The Magpul Daka Grid Case Vault V800 Made a Bold First Impression
The Magpul Daka Grid Case Vault V800 promises to transform the cavernous Pelican Vault V800 from a black hole of gear into an organized haven. As someone who has spent over a decade wrestling with disorganized tactical kits, this organizer piqued my interest. My hope was that it would tame the chaos within my go-to case.
I’ve always struggled with efficiently arranging items inside large cases like the Pelican Vault V800. Loose gear shifts during transport, leading to wasted time searching for specific items, and potentially damaged equipment. I needed a solution that offered both secure storage and easy accessibility. I had been considering options from foam inserts to DIY dividers, but the Magpul Daka Grid Case Vault V800 looked like a more robust and adaptable solution.
The Magpul Daka Grid Case Vault V800 arrived in simple, functional packaging. Upon opening it, I immediately noticed the quality of the materials and the modular design. The grid system appeared incredibly versatile, allowing for a truly custom layout. My first impression was overwhelmingly positive, and I was eager to get it installed in my Pelican Vault V800.
I considered other options like the TrekPak divider system and various custom foam inserts. However, the TrekPak system seemed less robust, and custom foam inserts lack adjustability once cut. The Magpul Daka Grid Case Vault V800 offered the best of both worlds: a rigid, durable structure with the flexibility to adapt to changing gear configurations. This was a critical factor in my decision.
My initial reaction was excitement. The potential for finally having a truly organized and easily accessible tactical kit was incredibly appealing. This appeared to be a professional, well-engineered solution to a long-standing problem. I felt a surge of optimism that this would be the organizational game-changer I’d been searching for.

The only minor issue I encountered was with the retention straps on the lid organizer. They occasionally interfered with closing the case when larger items were stored on the top level. I had to be mindful of the placement to ensure a proper seal, although this did not pose a significant hindrance.
