What Makes Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope Stand Out?
The Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope enters a crowded market of low to medium power variable optics (LPVOs), aiming to deliver performance and durability for the modern sporting rifle. Marketed by Lion Power Optics as a top-tier riflescope, it boasts features such as a 1-6x magnification range, a 24mm objective lens, and a rugged build designed to withstand harsh conditions. This scope seeks to bridge the gap between close-quarters engagements and mid-range target acquisition.
As someone who has spent over a decade evaluating and utilizing tactical optics, I was intrigued by the Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope‘s promise of quality and reliability, especially given its competitive price point of $360. I was searching for a versatile optic that could be effectively used in both dynamic shooting competitions and practical field applications. This search drove me to give the Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope a serious look.
Upon unboxing, the scope felt solid and well-constructed. The finish was clean and the turrets had a reassuringly tactile click. The scope certainly didn’t feel cheap.
Compared to a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6×24 and a Primary Arms SLx 1-6×24, the Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope appeared to have a slightly clearer glass and a more robust turret system. While all three scopes offer similar magnification ranges, the perceived build quality of the Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope seemed a step above. I chose it hoping for enhanced clarity and long-term durability.
My initial impression was one of cautious optimism. The scope appeared to be well-made and ready to perform. I was excited to mount it and see what it could do on the range.
Real-World Testing: Putting Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope to the Test
First Use Experience
My first outing with the Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope was at a local shooting range, mounted on my AR-15. I wanted to test its performance across various distances and lighting conditions. The weather was clear and sunny, ideal for evaluating glass clarity and target acquisition speed.
The scope performed admirably in these conditions, with a bright and clear image at all magnification levels. Transitioning between 1x and 6x was smooth. I was able to quickly engage targets at distances ranging from 25 to 300 yards. However, I did notice a slight fisheye effect at the 1x setting, which required some adjustment.
The ease of use was excellent, with intuitive turret adjustments and a forgiving eye box. No time was wasted getting comfortable behind it. I didn’t encounter any major issues during this first range session, although the slight fisheye at 1x remained a minor annoyance.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope has proven to be a reliable performer. I’ve taken it through multiple range sessions, a two-day carbine course, and even a hunting trip in moderately harsh weather conditions. It has held up remarkably well.
The durability of the scope is impressive; there are no noticeable signs of wear and tear despite being subjected to recoil, bumps, and temperature changes. The adjustments have remained consistent and accurate, and the glass remains clear. Cleaning is straightforward. A simple wipe-down with a lens cloth after each use is all that’s needed.
Compared to my previous experiences with cheaper optics, the Lion Power Optics LPO 1-6x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope has significantly outperformed them in terms of both image quality and durability. It provides a clear, consistent sight picture and is proving to be a worthy investment. I have confidence this optic will last for years.
