What Makes Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, Beretta 92 – 1 out of 13 models Stand Out?
The Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, Beretta 92 – 1 out of 13 models is a specialized accessory designed to allow shooters to easily mount a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro red dot sight onto their Beretta 92 series pistol. This streamlined mount replaces the factory rear sight, providing a secure and low-profile platform for the optic. Its all-steel construction and included hardware promise durability and a hassle-free installation process.
My journey to this mount began with a desire to modernize my trusted Beretta 92FS. I wanted to enhance its accuracy and target acquisition speed, particularly in low-light conditions, without resorting to permanent modifications. The DeltaPoint Pro had caught my eye for its robust design and clear glass, but directly mounting it to the Beretta’s slide required a solution.
Upon unboxing, the mount felt solid and well-machined. The black finish was even and professional, promising a seamless integration with the Beretta’s aesthetics. The included screws were neatly organized, giving me confidence that the installation would be straightforward.
I considered other options like having the slide milled directly or using a universal Picatinny rail adapter. I ultimately chose the Leupold mount because it offered the cleanest, lowest profile solution, preserving the classic lines of my Beretta while adding a modern optic. My first impression was excitement – this seemed like the perfect way to bring my trusty Beretta into the 21st century.
Real-World Testing: Putting Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, Beretta 92 – 1 out of 13 models to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at my local outdoor range. I wanted to see how the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, Beretta 92 – 1 out of 13 models performed under controlled conditions. I specifically focused on maintaining zero, ease of target acquisition, and overall handling of the pistol with the added optic.
The mount held up flawlessly, even after firing several hundred rounds. I also tested it in slightly wet conditions after an unexpected rain shower, and there was no noticeable shift in zero or any signs of corrosion. Getting used to the red dot system itself took a little time, but the mount itself was a non-issue; it simply did its job.
After the first range session, I was pleased with the performance, but noticed the screws started to loosen. I applied a small amount of blue Loctite to the screws for the next range session.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Dovetail Mount, Beretta 92 – 1 out of 13 models has proven to be incredibly reliable. There are no signs of significant wear and tear beyond minor cosmetic blemishes from holster use. I clean the mount with a standard gun solvent and lubricant after each range visit.
This mount has exceeded my expectations compared to previous experiences with other universal optic mounting solutions. The low profile and secure fit make it feel like a natural extension of the firearm rather than an afterthought. This upgrade has become an essential part of my Beretta 92 setup.
