Lb Marketing 97745 Long Throw Headlamp Black Aluminum LED 470 Lumens 500 Meters Review

What Makes Lb Marketing 97745 Long Throw Headlamp Black Aluminum LED 470 Lumens 500 Meters Stand Out?

The Lb Marketing 97745 Long Throw Headlamp Black Aluminum LED 470 Lumens 500 Meters is Police Security Flashlights’s offering in the long-throw headlamp market, promising a potent 470 lumens and a beam distance reaching 500 meters. This headlamp aims to provide users with focused, long-range illumination in a hands-free design, utilizing a twist-focus feature and a rechargeable LiPo battery. It targets individuals needing powerful, directional lighting for outdoor activities or professional tasks.

As a seasoned gear specialist, I often encounter situations demanding precise, hands-free illumination. A recent search and rescue training exercise highlighted the need for a headlamp capable of punching through dense fog and illuminating distant objects.

Upon unboxing the Lb Marketing 97745 Long Throw Headlamp Black Aluminum LED 470 Lumens 500 Meters, I was immediately struck by its lightweight Aluminum construction. The headlamp feels solid, yet remains comfortably light, a crucial factor for extended wear. My initial assessment of the twist-focus mechanism and overall design suggested a tool geared towards practical application.

I considered the Streamlight ProTac HL Headlamp and the Petzl Actik Core before settling on this model. While the Streamlight offers similar lumen output, the Lb Marketing option boasted a tighter beam for long-distance spotting at a lower price point. The Petzl, known for its widespread beam, lacked the focused intensity required for my specific long-range needs.

My first impression was cautiously optimistic. The promised 500-meter range seemed ambitious, but the build quality and focusing mechanism gave me hope that the Lb Marketing 97745 Long Throw Headlamp could deliver on its claims.

Real-World Testing: Putting Lb Marketing 97745 Long Throw Headlamp Black Aluminum LED 470 Lumens 500 Meters to the Test

First Use Experience

I first tested the Lb Marketing 97745 Long Throw Headlamp on a late-night property patrol. The headlamp was deployed in a variety of conditions, including light rain and moderate fog.

The twist focus feature proved invaluable, allowing me to quickly adjust from a wide flood to a tight beam for identifying objects at a distance. Even in damp conditions, the headlamp maintained a consistent beam and the aluminum housing provided confidence in its weather resistance. It was immediately clear that I needed no time to adjust to the controls – a simple twist and go!

Initially, I noticed a slight wobble in the headlamp mount when running, a minor concern that required adjustment of the straps for a more secure fit. However, the light output and beam distance far exceeded my expectations for a headlamp in this price range.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of near-daily use, the Lb Marketing 97745 Long Throw Headlamp has proven to be a reliable performer. The headlamp has accompanied me on night hikes, fishing expeditions, and even served as a backup light source during a power outage.

The aluminum housing has withstood bumps and scrapes without showing significant wear. Occasional cleaning with a damp cloth is all that’s been required to maintain its performance. This headlamp’s rechargeable LiPo battery holds a charge well, providing consistent light output for several hours on a single charge, making it more reliable than my previous experience with alkaline battery powered headlamps.

Compared to my older incandescent headlamps, the Lb Marketing headlamp offers superior brightness, beam distance, and battery life. The convenience of a rechargeable battery is a significant upgrade.
