KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack Review

Let’s Talk About KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack

Iron sights are the backbone of any serious shooter’s rifle, providing a reliable backup or primary sighting system. The KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack offers an array of front sight posts designed specifically for Magpul’s MBUS Pro sights. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill replacements; they’re precision-engineered to enhance accuracy and customize the sight picture.

For years, I’ve trusted iron sights for their ruggedness and dependability in situations where optics might fail. I was intrigued by the KNS Precision pack because I wanted to fine-tune my MBUS Pro sights for different shooting scenarios and distances. Unboxing the KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack, I was immediately impressed by the quality of the black oxide-finished steel posts.

The kit includes both square and round post options in varying widths/diameters (.034, .052, and .072), offering a surprising degree of customization. I compared it to a standard A2 front sight post and a tritium insert I’d previously used, and the KNS Precision pack won out due to its versatility. My initial impression was one of excitement; a simple upgrade promising a noticeable improvement in aiming precision.

Real-World Testing: Putting KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack to the Test

First Use Experience

I first tested the KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack at my local shooting range, focusing on a 100-yard steel target. The weather was clear, with a slight crosswind, providing a decent challenge for sight adjustment and accuracy. Swapping out the factory front sight post for the .052 square post from the KNS Precision kit was simple and straightforward using a standard sight adjustment tool.

I immediately noticed a crisper sight picture and improved target acquisition compared to the factory post. The different widths allowed me to tailor the sight to the target size, particularly beneficial for smaller targets at longer distances. There were no immediate issues, though I did note that the smaller .034 posts would require very precise adjustments for optimal use.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of regular use, the KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack has proven to be a worthwhile upgrade. There are no signs of wear on the steel posts, and the black oxide finish has held up well against repeated adjustments and exposure to cleaning solvents. Cleaning is as simple as wiping them down with a lightly oiled cloth.

Compared to my previous experiences with standard A2 front sights, the KNS Precision pack provides a vastly superior degree of customization and precision. It definitely outperforms fixed-width front sight posts in scenarios where target size and distance vary. The ability to quickly swap posts depending on conditions is a huge advantage.

Performance & Functionality

The KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack significantly enhances the functionality of Magpul MBUS Pro sights. The ability to choose the optimal post width or diameter for a given shooting scenario improves accuracy and target acquisition speed. The different post widths allow for more precise aiming, especially at longer distances or with smaller targets.

The main strength is the customization offered, allowing shooters to tailor their sights to their specific needs and preferences. A potential weakness is that some shooters may find the smaller post options (.034) more challenging to use, requiring very precise sight adjustments and a steady hand. Overall, the KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack exceeds expectations, providing a noticeable improvement over standard front sight posts.

Design & Ergonomics

The KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack boasts excellent build quality. The steel construction feels robust and durable, ensuring the posts can withstand the rigors of regular use. Each post is precisely machined for a clean and consistent sight picture.

The swap is seamless and easy, and there’s very little learning curve for experienced shooters. The design is functional and practical, focusing on providing the shooter with a range of options to optimize their aiming precision.

Durability & Maintenance

Given the steel construction and black oxide finish, the KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack is built to last. Regular cleaning and light oiling will help maintain the finish and prevent corrosion. The simple design and durable materials minimize the need for repairs.

With proper care, these sight posts should easily outlast the lifespan of the rifle itself. The steel is resistant to bending and breaking, ensuring reliable performance in demanding conditions.

Accessories and Customization Options

The KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack itself is an accessory designed to enhance the functionality of Magpul MBUS Pro sights. It doesn’t require additional accessories. However, using a quality front sight adjustment tool is highly recommended for easy and precise post changes.

The pack’s primary function is to customize the front sight picture. It is compatible with any standard MBUS Pro sight setup, and no further modifications are needed for installation. The KNS Precision MBUS Pro Sight 6 Pack perfectly complements the MBUS Pro system, expanding its capabilities without requiring any additional aftermarket parts.
