IOSSO AR15 COMPLETE CLEANING KIT Review

The IOSSO AR15 COMPLETE CLEANING KIT Made a Bold First Impression

Maintaining an AR-15 is paramount for reliable performance and longevity. That’s why I decided to try the IOSSO AR15 COMPLETE CLEANING KIT, hoping to find a comprehensive solution to my cleaning needs. With its promise of precision-fit brushes and a unique bore cleaning rope, it seemed like a good investment.

For years, I’ve struggled with generic cleaning kits that lack specialized tools for specific AR-15 components. Carbon buildup in the bolt carrier and gas tube often proved difficult to remove. I was looking for a kit that would address these pain points efficiently.

Upon unboxing, the IOSSO AR15 COMPLETE CLEANING KIT felt solid and well-organized. The brushes were clearly labeled, and the Eliminator tool looked like a clever design. The kit seemed compact enough to pack in my range bag.

I considered other kits from Otis Technology and Real Avid, but the IOSSO kit’s focus on precision and its bore cleaning rope swayed my decision. Those other kits seemed more general purpose. I was specifically looking for a focused AR-15 cleaning solution.

My first impression was one of cautious optimism. The kit looked promising, but the true test would be its performance on a dirty AR-15. I was excited to get started and see if it lived up to the hype.

Real-World Testing: Putting IOSSO AR15 COMPLETE CLEANING KIT to the Test

First Use Experience

I tested the IOSSO AR15 COMPLETE CLEANING KIT after a long day at the range, where I put about 300 rounds through my AR-15. The rifle was noticeably dirty, with carbon fouling visible in the bolt carrier and around the gas tube. This would be a good test.

The kit performed admirably, even under heavy fouling. The brushes reached into every nook and cranny, effectively loosening carbon deposits. The Eliminator cleaning tool and rod made short work of the upper receiver.

The brushes were easy to use and held their shape well, even after scrubbing heavily carboned areas. I appreciated the dedicated brush for the bolt carrier key tube, a common problem area. The bore cleaning rope, however, required a bit of practice to master.

The only issue I encountered was the bore cleaning rope initially snagging on the locking lugs. A bit of patience and a proper technique sorted that out. Overall, the first use was positive, and my AR-15 was noticeably cleaner.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of regular use, the IOSSO AR15 COMPLETE CLEANING KIT continues to impress. The brushes show minimal wear, and the Eliminator tool remains effective. The kit has become an integral part of my post-range routine.

The kit’s durability is excellent; no brushes have broken or frayed, and the cleaning rod remains straight. Cleaning the brushes is simple, requiring only soap and water. The bore cleaning rope can be washed and reused multiple times.

Compared to my previous experiences with generic cleaning kits, the IOSSO kit is far superior. It cleans more thoroughly, is easier to use, and is specifically tailored for the AR-15 platform. It has genuinely improved my rifle maintenance.
