Let’s Talk About Huskemaw Tactical Hunter 5-20x50mm Rifle Scope
The Huskemaw Tactical Hunter 5-20x50mm Rifle Scope is the latest offering from Huskemaw in their Tactical Series, designed for long-range precision. This scope aims to combine ballistic compensation with user-friendly features, promising exceptional performance for both big game hunters and long-range shooting enthusiasts. With its patented TrueBC, Rapid Field Ballistic Compensator (RFBC) turret, and illuminated Huntsmart reticle, it’s positioned as a premium optic.
I was looking for a scope that could reliably deliver accurate shots at extended ranges in varied hunting conditions. My aging eyes needed something with excellent glass clarity, and a forgiving eye box, all while maintaining pinpoint accuracy. I considered the Nightforce NX8 2.5-20×50 and the Leupold Mark 5HD 3.6-18×44, both reputable options. Ultimately, the Huskemaw’s TrueBC system and the promise of simple, effective long-range adjustments swayed me.
Unboxing the Huskemaw, I immediately noticed the robust build and the substantial 34mm tube. The matte finish looked professional, and the adjustments felt solid and precise. The weight, at 31.4 oz, felt reassuringly substantial without being overly heavy.
My initial impression was one of cautious optimism. The price point ($2299.00) sets high expectations, and I was eager to see if the Huskemaw Tactical Hunter 5-20x50mm Rifle Scope could live up to the hype. Would its TrueBC system really simplify long-range shooting, and would the glass provide the clarity needed for those critical low-light hunting situations?
Real-World Testing: Putting Huskemaw Tactical Hunter 5-20x50mm Rifle Scope to the Test
First Use Experience
I initially tested the Huskemaw Tactical Hunter 5-20x50mm Rifle Scope at my local shooting range, under bright, sunny conditions. The scope was mounted on my custom .300 Winchester Magnum rifle, a platform I’m intimately familiar with. I started at 100 yards, confirming my zero, before stretching out to 300, 500, and finally 800 yards.
The glass clarity was immediately impressive, even at maximum magnification, and the German F2 Schott glass lived up to its reputation. The RFBC turret was intuitive, and the ballistic compensation felt accurate, requiring minimal adjustments. There were no initial issues, although the learning curve with the Huntsmart reticle took a bit of getting used to.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, including two separate hunting trips in Montana and Wyoming, the Huskemaw Tactical Hunter 5-20x50mm Rifle Scope has proven its reliability. It endured temperature swings, light rain, and the general bumps and jostles of backcountry hunting. There are no visible signs of wear and tear, and the matte finish has held up well.
Cleaning the lenses is straightforward, and the adjustments remain crisp and consistent. Compared to my previous optic (a Zeiss Conquest V4), the Huskemaw offers superior glass clarity, more precise adjustments, and a more user-friendly ballistic compensation system. It outperforms my expectations and provides a level of confidence I previously lacked when taking long-range shots in the field.
