First Thoughts on the Hunters Specalities Excutioner Game Caller Black
The Hunters Specalities Excutioner Game Caller Black promises to be a versatile tool for any hunter looking to enhance their calling game. Hunters Specialties aims to deliver a user-friendly and effective electronic caller with pre-loaded sounds and remote control capabilities. This game caller boasts a powerful speaker and a decent range, creating an intriguing option in its price range.
As a seasoned outdoorsman, I’ve seen countless game callers promising the world but often falling short in the field. I was seeking a reliable caller that offered a blend of quality sound, range, and ease of use without breaking the bank, hoping that Hunters Specalities Excutioner Game Caller Black would fit the bill. Unboxing the Executioner Game Caller, my initial impression was of a sturdy unit, though the plastic housing felt a bit lightweight.
Compared to the Primos Doggcatcher 2, which I’ve used extensively, the Executioner is more compact. I also considered the FoxPro Shockwave, but the price point steered me towards this more budget-friendly option. I was cautiously optimistic; the large color screen on the remote suggested a user-friendly experience, but the ultimate test would be in the field.
Real-World Testing: Putting Hunters Specalities Excutioner Game Caller Black to the Test
First Use Experience
My first foray with the Hunters Specalities Excutioner Game Caller Black was during a coyote hunt in the arid plains of West Texas. The conditions were dry and dusty, with a moderate wind that presented a challenge for sound projection. Setting up the caller was straightforward thanks to the built-in legs, which allowed me to elevate the speaker and direct the sound towards my intended target area.
The remote paired quickly and easily, and I began cycling through the pre-loaded Johnny Stewart sounds. The volume was impressive, easily cutting through the wind and reaching a significant distance. However, I did notice that some of the calls sounded a bit tinny at higher volumes, and there was a slight delay between pressing the button on the remote and the sound playing from the unit.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of using the Hunters Specalities Excutioner Game Caller Black during various hunts and scouting trips, I have a better understanding of its capabilities and limitations. The unit has held up reasonably well, with no major signs of wear and tear, although I’m careful to store it in a padded case when not in use. The plastic housing is susceptible to scratches, but the internal components seem robust.
Maintaining the caller is quite simple; I just wipe it down with a damp cloth after each use and occasionally check the battery terminals for corrosion. Compared to my older cassette-based caller, the Executioner is a significant improvement in terms of sound quality and ease of use. However, the battery life is a concern. I strongly recommend using rechargeable AA batteries because it consumes battery power rather quickly.

Performance & Functionality
The Hunters Specalities Excutioner Game Caller Black performs adequately in its primary role – attracting game. Its high volume output and selection of Johnny Stewart sounds are definite assets. However, the sound quality can be a bit harsh at higher volumes.
The 300-yard range on the remote provides ample flexibility for setting up ambushes, but the delay between the remote and the speaker is noticeable and can be a detriment when trying to react quickly to approaching game.
