Real-World Testing: Putting Hunter Safety System Lineman’s Climbing Rope to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Hunter Safety System Lineman’s Climbing Rope while setting up a new hang-on stand in a mature oak tree. The conditions were dry, but there was a slight breeze, which made the climb a bit more challenging. The rope was easy to attach to my harness and adjust as I ascended the tree.
Using the rope allowed me to keep both hands free for handling the stand sections and securing them to the tree. I felt confident and secure knowing that I was always connected to the tree, even when reaching for bolts or adjusting straps. After initial set up, I have continued to test the rope climbing in my backyard with proper protective gear.
Extended Use & Reliability
After using the Hunter Safety System Lineman’s Climbing Rope for several months during the hunting season, it has held up remarkably well. There are no signs of significant wear and tear on the rope or carabiners. The rope has some small wear but is expected, since it is frequently rubbing against trees.
Maintaining the rope is simple: I just wipe it down with a damp cloth after each use to remove any dirt or debris. I also inspect the rope and carabiners regularly for any signs of damage. Compared to previous generic climbing ropes I’ve used, the Hunter Safety System rope is much more durable and easier to adjust.
