First Impressions of Hsm Ammunition Brass .350 Legend Unprimed New 50 Count
The .350 Legend cartridge has taken the hunting world by storm, offering a straight-walled option with impressive ballistics and manageable recoil, especially in AR-platform rifles. Reloading for it allows for precise control over your ammunition, and that starts with quality brass. The Hsm Ammunition Brass .350 Legend Unprimed New 50 Count promises exactly that: virgin brass ready for your custom loads. For those of us who demand accuracy and consistency, a reliable brass casing is the foundation of a quality round.
I’ve been reloading for over a decade, primarily for precision rifle cartridges. A recent deer hunting regulation change in my state now allows straight-walled cartridges, pushing me towards the .350 Legend. I was looking for new, unprimed brass to develop my custom hunting loads for the upcoming season.
The packaging was typical: a sturdy cardboard box, nothing fancy. Upon opening, the brass was neatly organized. The cases had a clean, uniform appearance. Visually, the brass seemed consistent in length and shape.
Compared to Starline brass, which I often use for my handgun rounds, the Hsm Ammunition Brass .350 Legend Unprimed New 50 Count appeared comparable in quality, albeit with a slightly less polished finish. I chose Hsm Ammunition because of their reputation for producing quality components and the readily available supply of .350 Legend brass. My initial reaction was positive. I was eager to measure its consistency and put it through the reloading process.
Real-World Testing: Putting Hsm Ammunition Brass .350 Legend Unprimed New 50 Count to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at my reloading bench and subsequently at my local shooting range. I used a progressive reloading press to load the Hsm Ammunition Brass .350 Legend Unprimed New 50 Count with a variety of bullet weights and powder charges, meticulously recording my results. The brass fed smoothly through my press.
The brass performed well under normal range conditions. There were no issues with resizing, belling the case mouth, or seating the bullets. I experienced zero case failures during the initial firing. The primers seated uniformly.
The Hsm Ammunition Brass .350 Legend Unprimed New 50 Count proved easy to work with, even for a newcomer to the .350 Legend cartridge.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of load development and practice sessions, the Hsm Ammunition Brass .350 Legend Unprimed New 50 Count has held up remarkably well. I’ve reloaded some of the cases three times already, and they still show no signs of cracking or excessive stretching. The primer pockets remain tight.
I’ve observed no significant signs of wear and tear, even after multiple firings at near-maximum loads. The brass cleans up easily in my tumbler with standard brass cleaning media. It is important to remove all traces of cleaning media.
Compared to some other brands of brass I’ve used in the past, the Hsm Ammunition Brass .350 Legend Unprimed New 50 Count seems to be of higher quality, exhibiting consistent performance and durability. It instilled confidence in my reloads. This is particularly important for hunting applications.
