Hogue Para Ordnance P-12 Handgun Grip Goncalo 12210 Review

Let’s Dive into Hogue Para Ordnance P-12 Handgun Grip Goncalo 12210

The Hogue Para Ordnance P-12 Handgun Grip Goncalo 12210 promises an enhanced grip and improved control for Para Ordnance P-12 pistols. Hogue is a well-known name in the firearm accessories market, and this grip, crafted from Goncalo Alves wood, aims to provide both functionality and aesthetic appeal. As someone with over a decade of experience in tactical gear, I’ve seen countless grips, but I was particularly interested in this one due to its material and the reputation of the Hogue brand.

My Para Ordnance P-12, a compact .45 ACP, has always been a reliable performer, but its factory grips lacked character and optimal ergonomics. I was seeking a grip that not only offered a more secure hold, especially during rapid firing, but also added a touch of class to the firearm. The Hogue Para Ordnance P-12 Handgun Grip Goncalo 12210 seemed to fit the bill perfectly, promising improved handling and a visually appealing upgrade.

Upon unboxing, my initial impression was positive. The Goncalo Alves wood had a beautiful grain pattern and a smooth, polished finish. The grips felt substantial in hand, suggesting good build quality and durability. I compared them to a set of Pachmayr rubber grips and a set of VZ Grips I had on hand for other 1911-style pistols. I chose the Hogue grips primarily for the natural wood feel and the promise of improved ergonomics without sacrificing aesthetics, something the rubber grips lacked.

My first impression was one of excitement. These grips looked and felt like a significant upgrade over the factory grips. The promise of enhanced control and the added aesthetic appeal had me eager to install them and head to the range.
