First Impressions of Hogue HandAll Beavertail Grip Sleeve Ruger Security 9 Compact
The Hogue HandAll Beavertail Grip Sleeve Ruger Security 9 Compact promises enhanced grip and recoil management for one of the most popular compact pistols on the market. As someone who values a secure and comfortable hold, especially on smaller framed guns, I was eager to see if this grip sleeve lived up to the hype. The Hogue name is synonymous with quality grips, so my expectations were high.
For years, I’ve struggled to find the perfect grip solution for my Ruger Security 9 Compact. The factory grip, while functional, always felt a bit slick, especially during extended range sessions or in less-than-ideal weather conditions. I needed something that offered improved purchase, better recoil absorption, and a more secure feel in my hand.
The Hogue HandAll Beavertail Grip Sleeve Ruger Security 9 Compact arrived in simple packaging, highlighting its straightforward purpose. Upon unboxing, I immediately noticed the quality of the Hogue‘s thermoplastic elastomer material. It felt durable and had a slightly tacky texture, inspiring confidence. Compared to a Pachmayr grip sleeve I used previously, this one felt more refined and specifically designed for the Ruger Security 9 Compact, not a generic fit.
I was definitely excited. A better grip translates to better control, improved accuracy, and reduced fatigue. If this Hogue grip sleeve delivered on its promises, it would be a significant upgrade to my Ruger Security 9 Compact.

After several months of regular use, the Hogue HandAll Beavertail Grip Sleeve Ruger Security 9 Compact has held up remarkably well.
