Let’s Dive into HME Products Lil Super Hanger
The HME Products Lil Super Hanger promises a simple yet effective solution for hanging gear in the field, a constant challenge for any outdoorsman. Manufactured by HME Products, this compact hanger boasts a patented “no unscrewing” design and a dual-prong accessory hook, all in a package small enough to fit in a fanny pack. Is this the ultimate lightweight hanging solution, or just another piece of gear destined for the bottom of my pack?
I’ve spent countless hours in treestands, blinds, and backcountry camps, often improvising hanging solutions for my gear, from bows and rifles to backpacks and calls. My past attempts have involved flimsy branches, precarious knots, and the occasional ground drop, resulting in damaged equipment and missed opportunities. The promise of a secure, compact, and easy-to-use hanger immediately piqued my interest, hoping to finally organize my gear efficiently.
Upon receiving the HME Products Lil Super Hanger, my initial impression was positive, noting its small size and lightweight construction. The plastic felt sturdy enough for its intended purpose, and the “no unscrewing” design appeared ingenious and user-friendly. I was eager to test its weight capacity and ease of use in real-world conditions, especially compared to the traditional screw-in hangers I’ve used in the past.
Compared to heavier, bulkier screw-in tree hangers and makeshift rope systems, the HME Products Lil Super Hanger appeared significantly more convenient for mobile hunting. Products like the Hawk Helium Hanger and the Muddy Outdoors Pro Hook offer similar functionality but often lack the compact profile advertised by the Lil Super Hanger. I chose this product for its promise of packability and ease of use.
My first impression was optimistic, but I remained cautiously optimistic. The true test would be its performance in the field, under the stresses of actual use. I was eager to see if the compact design sacrificed durability or load-bearing capacity.
Real-World Testing: Putting HME Products Lil Super Hanger to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial test of the HME Products Lil Super Hanger took place during a scouting trip in a dense, wooded area preparing for deer season. I primarily tested it by hanging my backpack (approximately 20 pounds) and my bow (around 4 pounds) from various tree limbs. The “no unscrewing” design proved exceptionally easy to use, allowing for quick installation and removal.
Despite the somewhat damp conditions, the hanger held securely, even with the weight of my pack and bow. I appreciated the dual prong accessory hook, which allowed me to organize smaller items such as calls and binoculars. The hanger was simple to use right out of the package.
The only issue I encountered was finding a tree branch with the appropriate diameter and angle to maximize the hanger’s weight capacity. I initially tried a smaller branch, which caused some flexing but ultimately held without issue.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of regular use, including multiple hunting trips and practice sessions at the range, the HME Products Lil Super Hanger has proven to be a reliable and convenient tool. It has consistently held my gear securely, even in challenging conditions, such as light rain and windy days. No signs of wear and tear are apparent.
The plastic construction has held up remarkably well. I did wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove mud and debris.
Compared to my previous experiences with less reliable methods, the HME Products Lil Super Hanger has significantly improved my organization and efficiency in the field. It outperformed my expectations, providing a secure and convenient solution for hanging my gear.
