Let’s Dive into HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest
The HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest is designed to alleviate the fatigue associated with hunting from shallow window blinds. This simple, yet effective device attaches to hub-style blinds, providing a stable and adjustable shooting platform. HME Products aims to provide hunters with an affordable and practical solution for steadying their aim in ground blinds. It’s priced at $19.99.
I’ve spent years contorting myself in ground blinds trying to get a steady shot. My problem? Finding a rest that was both quiet and easily adjustable without requiring excessive setup time. I had tried bipods, tripods, and even leaning against my backpack, but nothing felt quite right.
Upon unboxing the HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest, I was immediately struck by its simplicity. The olive-colored rest is lightweight and feels durable enough for the task. The build quality seems appropriate for the price point, with no immediately obvious flaws.
I considered the Caldwell DeadShot FieldPod and the Primos Trigger Stick Gen 3 before settling on the HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest. The Caldwell felt too bulky for packing into remote locations. The Primos, while versatile, was pricier and offered more features than I needed. The HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest seemed to offer a minimalist, lightweight solution perfect for my needs.
My initial reaction was cautiously optimistic. It wasn’t flashy, but it looked practical. I was eager to see if its simple design would translate into effective performance in the field.
Real-World Testing: Putting HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest to the Test
First Use Experience
My first opportunity to test the HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest came during the early archery season for whitetail deer in central Texas. I set up my hub-style blind overlooking a promising game trail near a creek bed. The morning was cool and damp.
The HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest was easy to install, quickly attaching to the window well of my blind. Its adjustability allowed me to fine-tune the height for a comfortable shooting position. It eliminated the usual awkward fumbling when a deer finally appeared.
After several hours in the blind, I noticed how much less fatigued my arms were. I was able to keep my bow at the ready without straining. The rest remained quiet throughout the morning, and didn’t spook the doe that eventually walked past.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of using the HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest during both archery and rifle seasons, it has held up remarkably well. There are no signs of significant wear and tear. It has stood up to being packed and unpacked, and has been exposed to some rain.
Cleaning is simple. I just wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove any mud or debris. Compared to my previous experiences with shooting sticks that often get tangled or bulky bipods, the HME Products Easy Aim Gun Rest is a breath of fresh air in terms of ease of use and maintenance. It performs exactly as advertised, providing reliable support without adding unnecessary complexity.
