The High Speed Gear TACO MOLLE Extended Pistol Single Magazine Pouch Black Nylon w/Polymer Divider Made a Bold First Impression
As a seasoned gear specialist, I’ve handled countless magazine pouches, each promising secure retention and rapid deployment. However, the High Speed Gear TACO MOLLE Extended Pistol Single Magazine Pouch Black Nylon w/Polymer Divider immediately caught my eye with its innovative design and promise of accommodating a wide range of magazines. I needed a versatile solution for my kit that could adapt to various sidearms and magazine types, something more reliable than the generic nylon pouches that always seemed too tight or too loose.
I was tired of fumbling with traditional magazine pouches, especially under pressure. My old setups either lacked adjustability or wore out quickly. The High Speed Gear pouch appealed to me because of its universal design and robust construction. It seemed like the perfect upgrade to streamline my gear and ensure consistent performance.
Unboxing the TACO pouch revealed a meticulously crafted piece of equipment. The combination of heavy-duty nylon and the rigid polymer divider gave it a substantial feel without being overly bulky. The MOLLE webbing was securely stitched, and the overall impression was one of quality and durability. Compared to simpler nylon pouches, like the Condor single pistol mag pouch, or even some of the kydex offerings from Blade-Tech, the TACO promised a greater degree of adaptability. It also looked far more robust than the cheaper, mass-produced alternatives.
My initial reaction was excitement mixed with a healthy dose of skepticism. I’ve been burned before by products that look great on paper but fail in real-world applications. First Use Experience
My first test of the High Speed Gear TACO MOLLE Extended Pistol Single Magazine Pouch Black Nylon w/Polymer Divider was at the shooting range during a law enforcement training day. I used it with various pistol magazines, including standard capacity 9mm, .40 S&W, and high-capacity .45 ACP magazines, plus a few sub-gun mags. The pouch easily accommodated all of them.
The pouch performed admirably in a variety of scenarios, from rapid-fire drills to static shooting exercises. The magazine retention was excellent, even when running and moving between shooting positions. There was no slippage or wobble, and the magazines were easily accessible when needed. I’ve used it during numerous training sessions, force-on-force exercises, and even a few rainy range days. The pouch shows minimal signs of wear and tear. Cleaning is simple, usually just requiring a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth. The polymer divider has maintained its rigidity and continues to provide excellent magazine retention.
