The High Speed Gear TACO Double Pistol Belt Mount Magazine Pouch Coyote Brown Nylon w/Polymer Divider Made a Bold First Impression

The High Speed Gear TACO Double Pistol Belt Mount Magazine Pouch Coyote Brown Nylon w/Polymer Divider arrived, and even before I opened the package, I knew this wasn’t going to be another flimsy, poorly-made piece of kit. The familiar High Speed Gear (HSGI) logo is synonymous with quality, and I was eager to see if this pouch lived up to the reputation. Its promise of versatility and secure retention of nearly any pistol magazine piqued my interest.

My current setup involved a mishmash of different pouches, each designed for a specific magazine type, and it was becoming a logistical nightmare. The main problem I faced was transitioning between different firearms and platforms at the range; I needed a universal solution for my pistol magazines. The TACO design, renowned for its adaptable retention, seemed like the perfect answer.

Upon unboxing, the quality was immediately apparent. The Coyote Brown nylon felt rugged, and the stitching was precise and clean. The polymer divider provided a reassuring stiffness and separated the magazines well. Compared to some of my older, cheaper pouches, this felt like a serious upgrade. I was specifically considering options from Blue Force Gear and Esstac, but the universal fit of the TACO system swayed me.

Initial impressions were very positive; the pouch felt solid, well-designed, and ready for some serious use. I was excited to put it through its paces. The promise of a secure yet easily accessible magazine solution filled me with anticipation.
