Real-World Testing: Putting High Speed Gear HSGI Duty Pistol Taco U-Mount Pouch to the Test

First Use Experience

My first field test involved a day at the shooting range, followed by a short backcountry hike. I primarily used the HSGI Duty Pistol Taco to hold spare pistol magazines of varying sizes. The pouch performed exceptionally well at the range, providing quick and easy access to my magazines during drills. The retention system kept everything secure, even during rapid movements, and the U-Mount attachment felt solid and reliable on my belt.

During the hike, the pouch proved equally useful for carrying a compact flashlight and a multi-tool. Even when exposed to light rain and some mud, the pouch retained its shape and functionality. The ease of adjusting the retention for different items was a huge plus, and I appreciated not having to fumble around to access my gear. There were no issues or surprises – it performed as expected, providing secure and convenient storage.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of consistent use, the High Speed Gear HSGI Duty Pistol Taco U-Mount Pouch has held up remarkably well. There are no noticeable signs of wear and tear on the nylon laminate, and the stitching remains intact. I’ve used it in various conditions, including hot summer days and cold, damp environments, and the pouch has consistently performed without fail. Cleaning is straightforward; a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient to remove any dirt or grime.

Compared to previous magazine pouches I’ve used, the HSGI Duty Pistol Taco significantly outperforms them in terms of versatility and durability. It is far more adaptable and shows no signs of degradation, even after heavy use. It has definitely exceeded my expectations.
