Real-World Testing: Putting Hawke Sport Optics Endurance 700 Laser Range Finder to the Test

First Use Experience

I tested the Hawke Sport Optics Endurance 700 Laser Range Finder during a deer hunting trip in the heavily wooded areas of Pennsylvania. The variable weather during my testing included damp mornings and overcast afternoons, perfect for assessing its weather resistance and low-light capabilities. The range finder was generally easy to use, but the multiple modes required some practice to master.

In the damp conditions, the rubber armor provided a secure grip and the water-resistant design held up perfectly. The OLED display with red illuminated icons was a significant improvement in the low light, making it easy to read the distance even at dawn. Initially, switching between modes like “Rain” and “Hunt” required some familiarization.

Extended Use & Reliability

After three months of consistent use, the Hawke Sport Optics Endurance 700 Laser Range Finder has proven to be a reliable tool. The rubber armor shows no significant signs of wear, and the internal components continue to function flawlessly. Maintaining the device is simple, requiring only occasional cleaning of the lens with a microfiber cloth.

Compared to my previous range finder, which had issues with battery life and accuracy in wet conditions, the Hawke Sport Optics Endurance 700 Laser Range Finder has significantly outperformed expectations. Its battery-saving auto shut-off feature is a great improvement. Its consistent accuracy and weather resistance make it an invaluable asset in the field.
