Let’s Dive into Grey Ghost Precision Match Glock 17 Non-Threaded Pistol Barrel
The Grey Ghost Precision Match Glock 17 Non-Threaded Pistol Barrel promises enhanced accuracy and reliability for Glock 17 owners seeking an upgrade. As someone who’s spent over a decade evaluating tactical gear, I’m always on the hunt for that sweet spot where performance meets practical application. Does this barrel deliver on its claims of match-grade precision? I was eager to find out.
My pursuit of the Grey Ghost Precision Match Glock 17 Non-Threaded Pistol Barrel stemmed from a desire for improved consistency at longer ranges. I was looking to tighten my groupings and enhance my Glock 17’s capabilities beyond a stock configuration.
Out of the box, the Grey Ghost Precision barrel exudes quality. The stainless steel finish is clean and smooth, and the weight feels substantial without being cumbersome. It was immediately apparent that this wasn’t your run-of-the-mill aftermarket barrel.
I considered barrels from ZEV Technologies and Faxon Firearms, but the reputation of Grey Ghost Precision for tight tolerances and reliability ultimately swayed my decision. The price point also played a factor, sitting competitively amongst other premium barrel options.
My first impression was one of cautious optimism. I was excited by the promise of increased accuracy but also aware that aftermarket barrels can sometimes introduce unforeseen issues. It was time to hit the range and see what this barrel could do.
Real-World Testing: Putting Grey Ghost Precision Match Glock 17 Non-Threaded Pistol Barrel to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Grey Ghost Precision Match Glock 17 Non-Threaded Pistol Barrel at my local shooting range. The initial session involved a mix of drills, focusing on accuracy at 15 and 25 yards. The weather was mild, with a slight breeze, providing consistent testing conditions.
The barrel seemed to prefer heavier grain ammunition and shot slightly high out of the box. After 100 rounds there were no malfunctions and the barrel began to settle in.
The barrel’s drop-in design made the installation process straightforward, which was a welcome change from some more finicky upgrades I’ve dealt with.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months and hundreds of rounds, the Grey Ghost Precision Match Glock 17 Non-Threaded Pistol Barrel has proven to be a reliable performer. It maintains a tight grouping even with rapid firing. There are no signs of cracking or bulging of the barrel after extensive use.
Regular cleaning and lubrication have kept the barrel in excellent condition. A quick wipe-down after each range session is all it needs.
Compared to my stock Glock barrel, the Grey Ghost Precision offering delivers noticeably tighter groupings. The difference is particularly apparent at longer ranges, where the enhanced rifling twist rate truly shines.
