First Thoughts on the G*Outdoors Tactical Pistol Case Black 1000D Nylon 1 Handgun Fits The Tactical Range Backpack
The GOutdoors Tactical Pistol Case Black 1000D Nylon 1 Handgun Fits The Tactical Range Backpack aims to provide a simple, affordable solution for handgun storage and transportation, especially when paired with a larger range bag. From GOutdoors, a company known for functional gear at accessible price points, this pistol case promises practicality and compatibility. Its key feature, besides the rugged 1000D nylon construction, is its design to integrate seamlessly with their Tactical Range Backpack.
I’ve always struggled with keeping my handguns organized and protected while heading to the range. Individual pistol cases can quickly clutter up my gear bag. Finding a dedicated case that fits neatly within a larger system, offering both protection and organization, seemed like an ideal solution.
Upon unboxing, the G*Outdoors Tactical Pistol Case felt robust. The 1000D nylon felt durable, and the stitching appeared solid, indicating a decent level of build quality for the price. The overall design seemed straightforward, focusing on functionality over aesthetics.
Compared to individual hard-sided pistol cases I’ve used in the past, like those from Plano or Pelican (though those are substantially more expensive), this case sacrifices some rigidity for lighter weight and packability. It’s more similar to soft pistol rugs from brands like Allen, but with the added benefit of magazine storage and compatibility with the G*Outdoors range bag system. Ultimately, I chose this case for its compatibility with my existing range bag, hoping to streamline my range trips.
Initially, I was cautiously optimistic. The price point seemed too good to be true for a case of this purported durability. My biggest hope was that it would provide adequate protection for my handguns while keeping everything organized.
Real-World Testing: Putting G*Outdoors Tactical Pistol Case Black 1000D Nylon 1 Handgun Fits The Tactical Range Backpack to the Test
First Use Experience
My first use was at an outdoor shooting range, where I tested the case with a Glock 19 and three magazines. The case easily accommodated the handgun and magazines. The weather was mild, but the range was a bit dusty.
The GOutdoors Tactical Pistol Case performed adequately. The handgun was well-protected from dust and minor bumps during transportation. The magazine pouches were convenient, allowing for easy access to extra magazines. I found that inserting the cased pistol into my GOutdoors range backpack was easy and intuitive.
There weren’t any major issues, but I did notice that the case offered limited rigidity when carried on its own. It sagged a bit, making it slightly awkward to handle outside of the backpack.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, the G*Outdoors Tactical Pistol Case has held up reasonably well. There are no signs of significant wear and tear, despite being subjected to regular use and handling. The 1000D nylon has proven to be quite durable.
The case is easy to clean. A simple wipe-down with a damp cloth removes most dirt and grime. I’ve occasionally used a nylon brush to remove stubborn dust from the stitching.
Compared to just throwing my pistol in my range bag with a makeshift cloth wrap, this case is a vast improvement. It’s a more organized and secure method of transporting my handguns. However, it doesn’t offer the same level of protection as a dedicated hard case.

Accessories and Customization Options
The GOutdoors Tactical Pistol Case itself does not offer much in the way of customization. It is what it is: a simple, functional case. The primary accessory is the GOutdoors Tactical Range Backpack, for which it is specifically designed.
