First Impressions of Googan Squad Mondo Worm Worm
The Googan Squad Mondo Worm Worm, a soft plastic stick bait designed in collaboration with the Googan Squad, promises to bring a new level of fish-attracting action to a classic design. This bait is intended to be versatile, appealing to bass in ponds, rivers, creeks, and lakes, and I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype. I was looking for a reliable and versatile worm to add to my tackle box, one that could be rigged in various ways and perform well in different conditions.
Upon receiving the Googan Squad Mondo Worm Worm, my initial impression was positive. The worm felt durable and had a good weight to it, suggesting it would cast well. The lateral lines integrated into the body were noticeable, and I hoped they would contribute to the “subtle shimmy action” described in the product details.
Compared to other stick baits I’ve used, like the Yamamoto Senko and Zoom Trick Worm, the Googan Squad Mondo Worm Worm seemed to have a more pronounced texture and a slightly different shape. I chose this worm because I was intrigued by the Googan Squad’s reputation for creating innovative and effective fishing lures, and I wanted to see if their take on the classic stick bait would give me an edge on the water. My first impression was one of cautious optimism; I was excited to test its performance but also aware that many baits promise more than they deliver.
Real-World Testing: Putting Googan Squad Mondo Worm Worm to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Googan Squad Mondo Worm Worm at my local lake, known for its diverse bass population and varying cover. I experimented with different rigging methods, including wacky rigging and Texas rigging, to see how the worm performed in different scenarios. The weather was partly cloudy with a slight breeze, and the water was relatively clear.
The worm proved to be surprisingly effective. Rigged wacky style with a weedless hook, it slipped easily through submerged vegetation, luring out several bass that were tucked away in the cover. I also had success Texas rigging it, casting it into deeper water and retrieving it slowly along the bottom. The worm’s action was subtle yet enticing, and I quickly gained confidence in its ability to attract fish. There were no immediate issues, and I was pleased with the worm’s performance during its first outing.

After several weeks of using the Googan Squad Mondo Worm Worm, I can confidently say that it has become a staple in my tackle box. The worm has held up remarkably well, even after repeated use and exposure to different conditions. There are minimal signs of wear and tear, and the plastic remains pliable and durable.
