Let’s Dive into Garrett 6.5″x9″ Ace Proformance Elliptical Metal Detector Searchcoil 2221700
As a seasoned outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I’ve swung a lot of metal detectors in my day. When I first laid eyes on the Garrett 6.5″x9″ Ace Proformance Elliptical Metal Detector Searchcoil 2221700, I was intrigued by its promise of enhanced target separation and increased depth – claims that often fall short in the field. The name Garrett is synonymous with quality, so my hopes were high that this coil would deliver.
My old search coil was starting to show its age, and I was missing smaller, deeper targets in heavily trash-laden areas. I needed a coil that could cut through the clutter and help me pinpoint those elusive finds.
Upon unboxing the Garrett 6.5″x9″ Ace Proformance Elliptical Metal Detector Searchcoil 2221700, I immediately noticed its solid construction. The materials felt durable, and the overall design seemed well-thought-out. It felt lighter than my existing 10″ round coil.
Compared to the standard coil that came with my Garrett Ace 300, and a larger 12″ concentric coil I sometimes use, this one seemed like a good middle-ground size with a focus on precision. I was hoping it would offer better separation than the 12″ and better depth than the stock coil in trashy areas. My initial impression was positive. I was eager to get it out into the field and see what it could do.
Real-World Testing: Putting Garrett 6.5″x9″ Ace Proformance Elliptical Metal Detector Searchcoil 2221700 to the Test
First Use Experience
My first outing with the Garrett 6.5″x9″ Ace Proformance Elliptical Metal Detector Searchcoil 2221700 was at an old homestead site riddled with iron. The ground was damp from recent rain, making for challenging detecting conditions.
The elliptical shape immediately proved its worth, allowing me to maneuver around obstacles and into tight spaces with ease. The target separation was noticeably improved compared to my larger coil. I was pulling out more non-ferrous targets amidst the iron junk than I ever had before. This was impressive. I also seemed to achieve a bit more depth.
I didn’t have to spend a lot of time to learn the searchcoil. It was very smooth transition with my Garrett Ace 300. There were no surprises in the first use, just good performance.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Garrett 6.5″x9″ Ace Proformance Elliptical Metal Detector Searchcoil 2221700 has proven to be a reliable and worthwhile addition to my metal detecting arsenal. It has endured everything from hot, dry summer days to muddy autumn hunts.
The coil shows minimal signs of wear and tear, a testament to its durable construction. The coil cover has prevented any scratches.
Maintenance is simple – a quick wipe down with a damp cloth after each use keeps it clean and ready for the next hunt. The Garrett 6.5″x9″ Ace Proformance Elliptical Metal Detector Searchcoil 2221700 outperforms my larger coil in trashy areas, providing better target separation and surprisingly good depth for its size. I would highly recommend this upgrade.
