The Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with T R Imports RZ17HD 12GA Made a Bold First Impression
The Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with T R Imports RZ17HD 12GA promises to transform the handling and versatility of your T R Imports RZ17HD 12GA shotgun. This aftermarket upgrade immediately caught my eye with its promise of improved ergonomics and adaptability in various tactical scenarios. I was especially intrigued by the pistol grip and folding mechanism, features that seemed perfect for maneuvering in tight spaces and minimizing the weapon’s profile for storage.
My journey to this product began with a nagging issue. I needed to improve my RZ17HD’s maneuverability. The original stock, while functional, felt bulky and unwieldy, particularly when navigating dense brush during hunting trips.
Upon unboxing, the Folding Tactical Buttstock immediately struck me as robust. The materials felt durable, and the build quality seemed solid, promising resilience against the rigors of field use. It had a satisfying heft, suggesting a quality construction that could withstand the recoil of a 12-gauge.
I considered similar options from ATI and Magpul, but the Folding Tactical Buttstock specifically tailored for the RZ17HD 12GA won out due to its direct compatibility. This assured a seamless fit and minimized the potential for modification headaches. The price point, at $76.99, also made it a very attractive and less risky choice compared to the more premium brands.
My first impression was one of cautious optimism. The Folding Tactical Buttstock’s potential was obvious, but real-world testing would be the ultimate decider. I was eager to see if it lived up to the promise of enhanced handling and maneuverability.
Real-World Testing: Putting Folding Tactical Buttstock with Pistol Grip Adjustable and Collapsible Compatible with T R Imports RZ17HD 12GA to the Test
First Use Experience
My first opportunity to test the Folding Tactical Buttstock came at a local shooting range, specifically designed with tactical scenarios in mind. I wanted to assess its handling and recoil absorption in a controlled environment. I also wanted to gauge how easy it was to transition between folded and unfolded configurations.
The weather was cooperative – dry, but with a slight breeze – which allowed for a comfortable and distraction-free session. The initial installation process, thankfully, proved simple and straightforward, with the stock sliding onto the RZ17HD receiver with minimal fuss. I noticed an immediate improvement in my grip due to the pistol grip design.
However, the first few shots revealed a slightly different recoil impulse compared to the original stock. It wasn’t unmanageable, but noticeably snappier. The pistol grip, while offering excellent control, required a slightly different stance to effectively mitigate the recoil.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the Folding Tactical Buttstock has proven to be a solid and reliable addition to my RZ17HD. I’ve taken it through a variety of conditions, including a damp hunting trip and a dusty afternoon at an outdoor range. It still feels as sturdy as when I first installed it.
There are no significant signs of wear and tear beyond minor cosmetic scratches. The folding mechanism continues to operate smoothly, and the adjustable stock locks securely in each position. Cleaning the Folding Tactical Buttstock is surprisingly easy.
Compared to my experience with a previous, less expensive, aftermarket stock (from an unnamed company), this Folding Tactical Buttstock has vastly outperformed it in terms of durability and overall feel. This one feels like a legitimate upgrade, and it’s a vast improvement in quality over my previous experiences.
