Let’s Dive into Foamex/Wilshire Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150 HT5790S Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150, Pack of 150
The Foamex/Wilshire Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150 HT5790S Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150, Pack of 150 might not be the sexiest tactical gear on the market, but trust me, cleanliness in the field is next to godliness (and prevents a whole host of other problems). As someone who’s spent over a decade navigating the often-grimy world of outdoor and tactical operations, I’ve learned that a good wipe is worth its weight in gold. These aren’t your average baby wipes; the Mirawipes boast an “abrasive-like texture” designed for cleaning non-porous surfaces – a claim I was eager to test.
I was on the hunt for a heavy-duty cleaning solution that could tackle everything from weapon maintenance to cleaning sensitive optical equipment without leaving residue or scratching. My current cleaning routine involved a hodgepodge of microfiber cloths, specialized lens cleaners, and a prayer. This Foamex/Wilshire product promised a one-stop solution, and I was willing to put it through the ringer.
Upon unboxing the Mirawipes, my initial thought was, “These are bigger than I expected.” The 9×9 inch size is generous, and the wipe itself felt robust, not flimsy like some of the cheaper alternatives I’ve used. Compared to standard shop towels or even some microfiber cloths, the Mirawipes had a noticeable texture, hinting at their abrasive cleaning power. I considered standard disposable wipes and dedicated optic cleaning cloths, but chose the Mirawipes based on the promise of durability and versatility for both general cleaning and delicate equipment.
My first impression was cautiously optimistic. The size and texture were promising, but the real test would be in the field, where grit, grime, and sensitive surfaces collide. At $379.99, they are an investment, and I was hoping to see if the Foamex/Wilshire Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150 HT5790S Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150, Pack of 150 can deliver cleaning value.
Real-World Testing: Putting Foamex/Wilshire Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150 HT5790S Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150, Pack of 150 to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test was at the shooting range after a particularly dusty day of drills. I used the Mirawipes to clean my AR-15’s bolt carrier group and the lenses of my tactical scope. The grime came off surprisingly easily. The abrasive texture provided enough grip to lift away carbon fouling without scratching the delicate lens coatings.
I also tested them after a saltwater fishing trip. My saltwater fishing equipment needed a good cleaning. The Mirawipes proved useful at removing salt residue from my fishing rods and reels. The size of the wipes allowed me to cover a large surface area quickly, and the “X-WIDE Edge” seemed to help with getting into tight corners. It took a few wipes, but I was able to completely clean and dry all of my fishing equipment.
There was a slight learning curve in determining the optimal pressure to apply. Overly aggressive scrubbing could potentially damage very sensitive surfaces, but a gentle touch yielded impressive results. I noticed that the wipes did leave behind a very slight lint residue, which was more noticeable on glossy surfaces.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of using the Mirawipes in various scenarios, I can confidently say that they are holding up well. I’ve used them for everything from cleaning firearms after range days to wiping down muddy boots after a hike. The durability is impressive. They don’t tear easily, even when tackling stubborn grime.
I haven’t noticed any significant wear and tear, even after repeated use on rough surfaces. Maintenance is non-existent – they’re disposable. As for cleaning, these Mirawipes are the king. I am able to clean my tactical gear efficiently.
Compared to my previous method of using multiple cleaning products and cloths, the Foamex/Wilshire Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150 HT5790S Mirawipe 9X9 X-WIDE Edge PK150, Pack of 150 has streamlined my cleaning routine. I was actually surprised that this pack outperforms other wipes I have used in the past.
