First Impressions of First String Premium String Kit 1207743
As an outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I’ve seen my fair share of bowstrings come and go. However, when I first heard about the First String Premium String Kit 1207743, its promise of upgraded performance for popular bows piqued my interest. I’ve always believed that the string is the heart of a bow, directly impacting accuracy, speed, and overall shooting experience, so a premium option immediately grabbed my attention.
My old bowstring was starting to show its age with noticeable fraying and a decline in performance, so I needed a reliable and durable replacement. I was specifically looking for a string that would enhance my bow’s speed and reduce string vibration, ultimately improving my shot consistency. I had read online that the First String brand was highly recommended, so I wanted to see if it lived up to the hype.
Upon unboxing the First String Premium String Kit 1207743, I immediately noticed the quality of the materials. The string and cables appeared meticulously crafted, with a tight weave and clean servings. The color combination of brown and green was aesthetically pleasing and seemed well-suited for blending into natural environments. The build quality seemed solid, giving me confidence that it would withstand the rigors of regular use.
I considered a few other options before settling on the First String. I looked at a Winner’s Choice string and a set from 60X Custom Strings, but the First String’s reputation for balanced performance and longevity, coupled with its specific design for popular bow models, swayed my decision. I wanted something that was not only durable but also offered a noticeable improvement in my bow’s overall performance.
My first impression was positive and filled with cautious optimism. The initial inspection suggested a well-made, high-performance product. I was eager to install it on my bow and see if it translated into tangible improvements in my shooting experience.

I first tested the First String Premium String Kit 1207743 at my local archery range. I wanted a controlled environment to evaluate the string’s initial performance. I focused on assessing string vibration, draw smoothness, and arrow speed.
The weather was slightly damp, with a light drizzle, but I proceeded with my testing. Even in these conditions, the string performed admirably. The First String Premium String Kit 1207743 demonstrated noticeably less vibration compared to my old string. I also observed a smoother draw cycle which made it easier to hold steady at full draw.
Installing the string kit was straightforward, although it did require a bow press and some basic knowledge of bow maintenance. After installation, I immediately noticed a slight increase in arrow speed, which translated to a flatter trajectory and improved accuracy at longer distances. I did not encounter any immediate issues, and the initial results were encouraging.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, including multiple trips to the range and one hunting excursion, the First String Premium String Kit 1207743 has held up impressively. I have fired hundreds of arrows through it and have noticed no significant wear or performance degradation. The serving is still tight, and there are no signs of fraying.
The durability of this string kit is commendable. Even after exposure to varying weather conditions, including rain, mud, and sunlight, it has maintained its integrity. Minimal maintenance has been required. I’ve only needed to apply a small amount of string wax every few weeks to keep it in top condition.
Compared to my previous experiences with cheaper, less-premium strings, the First String Premium String Kit 1207743 is a clear winner. It offers superior performance, durability, and overall value.
