The First String Premium String Kit 1203557 promises to be a high-performance upgrade for archers seeking enhanced accuracy and reliability. Manufactured by First String, a reputable name in the archery world, this kit is designed as a direct replacement for factory bow strings and cables. This kit is designed for archers looking to boost performance.
I’ve been tweaking and tuning bows for over a decade, always chasing that perfect shot. Factory strings often leave something to be desired, stretching and losing performance quickly. I specifically sought out the First String Premium String Kit 1203557 hoping for a more stable and durable string setup.
Upon unboxing, the strings felt robust and well-constructed. The serving was tight and even, and the colors – brown and green – were a nice aesthetic touch. The initial impression was that this kit offered a significant upgrade in quality compared to the factory strings I’m accustomed to seeing.
I was primarily choosing between this kit, a custom set from a local bow shop, and another premium pre-made string set. I picked this First String Premium String Kit 1203557 because of the First String brand’s reputation and the convenience of a complete, ready-to-install kit. I was optimistic, yet cautiously so, hoping this kit would live up to the hype. I looked forward to testing this in my own bow.
Real-World Testing: Putting First String Premium String Kit 1203557 to the Test
First Use Experience
I installed the First String Premium String Kit 1203557 on my primary hunting bow, a compound bow used for whitetail and elk. The initial test took place at my local archery range, followed by several sessions in my backyard range simulating hunting conditions. I performed the testing in moderate temperatures.
The kit was relatively easy to install, thanks to its pre-stretched construction. I did not notice any significant stretch during the initial setup, which is a great sign. The bow immediately felt more responsive and stable with the new strings and cables, giving me confidence.
The only initial issue was a slight peep rotation after the first few shots, which I easily corrected. Otherwise, the First String Premium String Kit 1203557 performed flawlessly right out of the box. It felt like an immediate improvement.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks and hundreds of shots, the First String Premium String Kit 1203557 has maintained its integrity remarkably well. There’s been minimal peep rotation and virtually no noticeable stretch. This is a big difference from the constant adjustments needed when using the factory string.
There are no signs of fraying or wear on the string or cables, even after repeated use in slightly dusty conditions. The serving is still tight and secure. To maintain it, I’ve been regularly waxing the string with a quality string wax, and wiping down the cams.
Compared to previous experiences with cheaper string sets, the First String Premium String Kit 1203557 is a clear winner in terms of durability and performance. This kit provides long-term reliability. This reliability is key to ethical hunting.
