The Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 12 Gauge 1oz 2.75in 9 Shot Shotgun Ammunition
12SD1H9 40% Off represents Fiocchi’s attempt to deliver a quality promotional load without sacrificing performance. Designed for target shooting and sporting clays, this ammunition offers a balance of affordability and consistency, making it an appealing choice for high-volume shooters. The 9 shot size aims to provide dense patterns for breaking clays and other targets.
I was looking for a reliable and affordable 12-gauge load for frequent practice at the shooting range. The promise of Fiocchi’s quality control, even in their promotional line, piqued my interest, as consistent patterns are crucial for improving my clay shooting scores. The current 40% off promotion made it an even more attractive option.
My initial impression upon receiving the Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics ammunition was positive; the packaging was sturdy and the shells looked well-manufactured. The shells felt consistent in weight and length, indicating a good level of quality control. Nothing beats the sight of neatly packed shotgun shells promising a fun day at the range.
Compared to other budget-friendly options like Winchester Universal or Remington Gun Club, the Fiocchi ammunition stood out because of Fiocchi’s reputation for cleaner burning powder and consistent shot. I had experienced cycling issues with cheaper loads in the past, leading me to prioritize reliability, even in a promotional offering. I chose Fiocchi hoping for a smoother experience.
My first impression was excitement mixed with cautious optimism; the price was right, and the brand was reputable, but performance would ultimately determine its worth. The 40% discount made it hard to resist, but I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype, or if it was simply another case of “you get what you pay for”. Time to hit the range and find out.
Real-World Testing: Putting **Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 12 Gauge 1oz 2.75in 9 Shot Shotgun Ammunition

First Use Experience
I tested the Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics ammunition at my local shooting range, primarily focusing on clay target shooting. I used my trusty Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting, a semi-automatic known for its reliable cycling. The day was slightly overcast with a mild breeze, creating fairly standard shooting conditions.
The Fiocchi shells performed admirably; they cycled smoothly through my Beretta without any failures to feed or eject. The recoil was manageable and consistent, allowing me to maintain my focus on the targets. The sound was crisp, and the report felt normal.
The ease of use was excellent; I experienced no issues loading or firing the ammunition. The shells ejected cleanly, and the hulls appeared to be in good condition after firing. The primers ignited reliably with no noticeable delays or misfires.
The only slight surprise was the amount of residue left in the barrel after about 100 rounds, suggesting that while the powder is indeed cleaner-burning than some other promotional loads, it still isn’t entirely spotless. However, this was easily addressed with a quick cleaning after the session. I did notice a bit of plastic fouling as well, which is common with cheaper shells.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of regular use, the Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics ammunition continues to perform consistently. I have fired approximately 500 rounds through my shotgun with no major issues. The reliability of the ammunition has been excellent.
The ammunition has held up well; I haven’t noticed any significant changes in performance. The shells still cycle smoothly and reliably. There haven’t been any signs of degradation in storage, either.
Maintenance is straightforward; the usual post-shooting cleaning is sufficient to keep my shotgun in top condition. A bore snake and a quick wipe-down are all that’s needed. The cleaning interval is similar to what I experience with other target loads.
Compared to my previous experience with Winchester AA target loads, the Fiocchi ammunition offers similar reliability at a lower price point. While the Winchester AA loads may produce slightly tighter patterns, the Fiocchi shells are more than adequate for recreational clay shooting and offer excellent value for money. It provides a more wallet-friendly approach to enjoying the sport.
