For years, I’ve been the go-to guy for all things outdoor and tactical, and when it comes to shotguns, I’ve seen it all. So, when I got my hands on the Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 12 Gauge 1oz 2.75in 7 1/2 1250 Shot Shotgun Ammunition
12SD1X75 48% Off, I was eager to see how it stacked up against the competition. This isn’t just another box of shells; it’s a promise of performance from Fiocchi, a brand known for its commitment to quality.
I needed a reliable, consistent load for training days at the range. Over the years the inconsistency of other brands would often leave me missing easy shots. The Fiocchi ammunition seemed to offer a good balance of price and performance, making it ideal for high-volume shooting.
The packaging was standard, nothing flashy, but the shells themselves looked clean and well-crimped. Weighing them in my hand, they felt consistent, which is always a good sign. Fiocchi is known for its strict tolerances, which should translate to consistent patterns downrange.
Compared to Winchester AA and Remington Gun Club, the Fiocchi rounds were priced competitively, especially with the discount. While the Winchester and Remington are known standards, the Fiocchi offered a chance to save some money without sacrificing too much performance. I’ve always been a proponent of trying new things, especially if they have the potential to save money.
I was excited to get these rounds out to the range. My main goal was to see if they lived up to the Fiocchi name.

First Use Experience
I tested the Fiocchi ammunition at my local shooting range, under partly cloudy skies with a slight breeze. I used my trusty Benelli Nova pump-action shotgun, a workhorse known for its reliability. I primarily focused on clay targets at various distances.
The weather was typical for a spring day in the Midwest – a bit damp, but not too windy. These are the sorts of conditions most recreational shooters would be in. I wanted to see how the shells performed in less-than-ideal conditions.
The Fiocchi shells loaded smoothly into my Benelli, and the first shot felt crisp and clean. Recoil was manageable. The consistency was immediately apparent. I was able to consistently break clays, a testament to the shell’s performance.
There were no immediate issues, no duds, or strange sounds. After using a box of 25, I was quite impressed with the initial performance. I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, spread across multiple range sessions, the Fiocchi shells have consistently performed well. I’ve fired over 250 rounds, and I haven’t experienced a single malfunction. This reliability is crucial for both training and competition.
The shells show no signs of degradation, even after being stored in my garage, which isn’t climate-controlled. The crimps remain tight, and the hulls show no signs of swelling or cracking. This speaks to the quality of the materials and manufacturing process.
Cleaning my Benelli after shooting the Fiocchi rounds was straightforward. There wasn’t excessive fouling or residue. This is in contrast to some cheaper brands. These can leave a dirty buildup in the barrel. I would have to spend significantly more time cleaning the shotgun.
Compared to other budget-friendly options I’ve used, like the Federal Top Gun, the Fiocchi shells are noticeably cleaner and more consistent. While the Federal shells are cheaper, the performance difference is enough to justify the slightly higher price of the Fiocchi. In my opinion, the Fiocchi shells outperform other shells in its price range.
