Let’s Talk About Fasteners Unlimited Surface-Mount Round LED Ceiling/Under Cabinet Light With Switch Satin 4.85in x 0.75in.
Have you ever struggled with dim, energy-guzzling halogen lights in your RV, boat, or under your kitchen cabinets? The Fasteners Unlimited Surface-Mount Round LED Ceiling/Under Cabinet Light With Switch Satin 4.85in x 0.75in. promises a brighter, more efficient solution with its 12 warm white double diode LEDs. Fasteners Unlimited claims this light delivers 408 lumens while using a fraction of the power of traditional halogens, and I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype.
My primary need was to replace the outdated and excessively hot halogen lights in my camper van’s interior. I wanted something that would provide ample illumination without draining the battery or turning the ceiling into a heat source. I was also tired of replacing those fragile halogen bulbs every few months.
Unboxing the Fasteners Unlimited light, I was immediately struck by its sleek, low-profile design. The satin nickel finish gave it a modern, understated look, and the overall build quality seemed solid. At just 0.75 inches thick, it felt surprisingly compact, and the integrated switch was a welcome feature.
I considered similar LED lights from other brands like RecPro and Command Electronics, but ultimately chose the Fasteners Unlimited model for its reported high lumen output and built-in switch. RecPro’s models seemed less bright and lacked an integrated switch, while Command Electronics’ lights had mixed reviews regarding longevity. My first impression was positive; the light looked well-made and ready to install. I was hopeful that it would solve my lighting woes.
Real-World Testing: Putting **Fasteners Unlimited Surface-Mount Round LED Ceiling/Under Cabinet Light With Switch Satin 4.85in x 0.75in.** to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial test involved replacing one of the halogen lights above the kitchenette in my camper van. Installation was straightforward, using the existing wiring and mounting holes. The light immediately illuminated the area with a warm, even glow, far superior to the harsh, focused beam of the halogen bulb it replaced.
During a weekend camping trip, I used the light extensively for cooking, reading, and general tasks inside the van. Even on a rainy night, the light provided ample visibility without being overpowering. I noticed no flickering or dimming, even when the van’s battery was under load. There were no surprises, only a significantly improved lighting experience.

Extended Use & Reliability
After three months of regular use, the Fasteners Unlimited light has performed flawlessly. There are no signs of wear and tear on the housing or the LED diodes. I did accidentally spray it with cooking oil once, but it wiped clean with a damp cloth without any staining or damage.
The light has far exceeded my expectations compared to my experience with the previous halogen bulbs. The Fasteners Unlimited light is brighter, more efficient, and significantly cooler to the touch. It has become an indispensable part of my camper van setup.
