Let’s Talk About EZ-Aim Turkey Target, 6-Pk
Turkey season is a sacred time for many hunters, myself included. The thrill of the chase, the satisfaction of calling in a gobbler, and the reward of a delicious meal make it an experience unlike any other. To ensure success, preparation is key, and that includes countless hours honing your aim. That’s where the EZ-Aim Turkey Target, 6-Pk from Allen comes in – a simple yet effective tool for dialing in your shotgun or rifle before the big day.
My old paper targets were faded, ripped, and frankly, boring. I needed something fresh, easily visible, and purpose-built for turkey hunting, so I looked into the EZ-Aim Turkey Target, 6-Pk. Upon receiving these targets, I was immediately struck by their simplicity and practicality – a far cry from some of the overly complex targets I’ve used in the past.
Compared to generic bullseye targets, these are designed with a wild turkey silhouette, providing realistic aiming points. The black and white design also contrasts starkly against most backdrops, unlike some multicolored targets that blend into the environment. My initial impression was positive; they seemed durable enough for multiple range sessions and offered a focused practice approach.
Real-World Testing: Putting EZ-Aim Turkey Target, 6-Pk to the Test
First Use Experience
I took the EZ-Aim Turkey Target, 6-Pk to my local shooting range, an outdoor facility with distances out to 100 yards. Conditions were typical for spring in my area – slightly damp and breezy, with temperatures hovering around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. I used these targets primarily with my 12-gauge shotgun, patterned with different chokes and loads to assess their spread at varying distances.
The target’s paper held up surprisingly well even when stapled to a wooden frame that had seen better days. The multiple aiming points proved useful for simulating different shot placements on a real turkey. There were no unexpected issues after the first use, just the satisfaction of seeing my patterns tighten as I adjusted my aim.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the EZ-Aim Turkey Target, 6-Pk has proven to be a reliable and cost-effective training tool. Even after being exposed to some light rain, the laminated top and bottom edges held firm, preventing the paper from tearing prematurely. Maintenance is non-existent; I simply replace the target once it’s too riddled with holes to be useful.
Compared to the cardboard silhouettes I sometimes use, these targets are far more portable and easier to set up. The consistent size and clear aiming points also allow me to track my progress more accurately over time. They’ve helped me fine-tune my shotgun setup, ensuring ethical and effective shots during turkey season.
