EZ-Aim Adhesive Firearm Trainer Kit Paper Targets w/Target Stand Review

First Impressions of EZ-Aim Adhesive Firearm Trainer Kit Paper Targets w/Target Stand

The EZ-Aim Adhesive Firearm Trainer Kit Paper Targets w/Target Stand promises a complete, convenient, and instantly usable target system for handgun practice. From EZ-Aim, this kit seeks to simplify range setup with its adhesive targets, self-assembling backstop, and included repair pasters. It aims to provide immediate visual feedback on shot placement without needing to walk downrange constantly, a feature highly valuable for efficient training.

As an experienced shooter and instructor, I was drawn to this product by the promise of quicker setup and improved shot feedback, streamlining my training sessions. The “splash” technology, with its promise of clear visual impact, seemed particularly intriguing. I often find myself spending too much time setting up traditional targets and walking downrange to score them.

Upon unboxing, the kit presents a simple design. The corrugated backstop feels sturdy enough for its intended use, and the targets themselves are clearly printed. The adhesive backing seems adequate. My initial thoughts are that the corrugated cardboard will need to be replaced often.

Compared to using individual paper targets stapled to wooden frames, this kit aims to offer a more integrated and less cumbersome experience. Other similar products often lack the immediate visual feedback of the EZ-Aim‘s splash technology, or require separate purchase of stands and repair materials. I chose this kit for its all-in-one approach and the potential for faster training sessions.

My first impression is cautiously optimistic. The kit looks promising for quick range sessions. Whether it holds up to extended use and provides reliable shot feedback remains to be seen.

Real-World Testing: Putting EZ-Aim Adhesive Firearm Trainer Kit Paper Targets w/Target Stand to the Test

First Use Experience

I tested the EZ-Aim Adhesive Firearm Trainer Kit Paper Targets w/Target Stand at my local outdoor shooting range. The weather was typical for late spring: partly cloudy with a slight breeze. I set up the stand at 15 yards, a common distance for handgun training.

The stand assembly was simple, requiring no tools or additional adhesives. Attaching the adhesive target to the backstop was equally straightforward. The splash effect was immediately noticeable, with each shot creating a bright chartreuse halo around the bullet hole. This made it easy to assess accuracy without needing binoculars or frequent trips downrange.

After the first few magazines, the target began to show wear. The corrugated cardboard backer began to show wear as well. After about 50 rounds, the backstop needed some additional tape to reinforce it.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of use, the EZ-Aim Adhesive Firearm Trainer Kit Paper Targets w/Target Stand has shown both strengths and weaknesses. The splash targets continue to provide excellent shot feedback. However, the backstop’s durability is a concern.

The corrugated cardboard shows significant wear and tear after repeated use. Bullet holes eventually compromise its structural integrity. Maintenance involves replacing the backstop more frequently than anticipated. I can see myself having to purchase additional cardboard backers after only a few uses.

Compared to my previous experience with steel targets, this kit offers less longevity. However, it provides immediate shot feedback that steel targets lack. The quick setup and visual clarity make it a valuable training tool, despite the need for more frequent replacement of the backstop.
