Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum Review

The Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum Made a Bold First Impression

Sling mounts. They’re often an afterthought, a necessary evil in the quest to properly equip a rifle or shotgun for real-world use. But a poorly designed or constructed sling mount can be a liability, potentially failing at a critical moment. That’s why when I needed a reliable and low-profile solution for a new AR build, I turned to the Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum.

My search started with the need to add a single-point sling to an AR-15 pistol. Existing options felt bulky, unreliable, or required permanent modification of the firearm. The promise of a durable, lightweight, and easily installed solution drew me to the Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum.

Upon receiving the mount, I was immediately impressed by its sleek design. The silver anodized aluminum felt solid and well-machined, suggesting a robust build. It was noticeably lighter than some steel alternatives I’d considered, which was a definite plus.

I considered a few other options before settling on the Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum. Magpul’s RSA QD sling mount is a solid option, but I wanted something with a traditional sling loop, not a QD socket. Midwest Industries offers some excellent low-profile mounts, but they were considerably more expensive. My initial impression of the Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum was one of cautious optimism. It looked the part, felt solid, and the price was right.

Real-World Testing: Putting Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum to the Test

First Use Experience

The initial test took place at my local shooting range, a familiar environment for evaluating new gear. I mounted the Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum onto the AR-15 pistol’s Picatinny rail in a matter of minutes, using the provided nylon tipped set screw and jam screw. I used blue thread locker to provide additional holding power. The mount felt secure and didn’t shift, even after repeated firing.

The weather conditions were mild, but the range was somewhat dusty. The mount’s smooth finish made it easy to wipe down between strings of fire. I was initially concerned about the sling loop interfering with my grip, but the low-profile design prevented any issues. There were no immediate concerns following that initial shooting session.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of consistent use, the Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum has proven to be remarkably reliable. It has withstood numerous range trips, training sessions, and even a few backcountry excursions, where it was exposed to more demanding conditions. There are no signs of wear and tear on the aluminum, and the finish has held up well, resisting scratches and fading.

Cleaning is a breeze; a quick wipe down with a CLP-soaked cloth is all it takes to keep it in top condition. The mount has consistently outperformed my expectations. It feels significantly more robust and secure than some cheaper, pot-metal sling mounts I’ve used in the past. The Ergo Ergo Aluminum Sling Swivel and Mount Silver Alum exceeded my expectation.
