First Impressions of EFK Fire Dragon Sig Sauer P365 9mm Standard Pistol Barrel
The EFK Fire Dragon Sig Sauer P365 9mm Standard Pistol Barrel promises to be more than just a replacement part; it aims to be an upgrade, enhancing the accuracy and longevity of one of the most popular concealed carry pistols on the market. EFK Fire Dragon claims top-quality materials and precision manufacturing. The promise of consistent, accurate, and long-lasting performance definitely piqued my interest.
I was searching for a barrel upgrade to improve the inherent accuracy of my P365 for both range training and potential EDC use. The stock barrel, while reliable, left something to be desired in terms of consistent grouping at extended distances. I wanted to tighten those groups and extend the lifespan of my firearm.
Upon unboxing, the EFK Fire Dragon barrel immediately struck me with its clean lines and polished stainless steel finish. The weight felt substantial, giving the impression of a robust, well-made component. The machining was clean, with no visible imperfections, inspiring confidence in its build quality.
Compared to barrels from Faxon Firearms and Grey Ghost Precision, the EFK Fire Dragon stood out due to its combination of the advertised superior stainless steel and its reputation for tighter tolerances. While the others have great marketing, EFK Fire Dragon’s reputation among competitive shooters swayed my decision. I was excited to see if it lived up to the hype.
My first impression was one of cautious optimism. The visual quality and the manufacturer’s claims were compelling, and I was eager to get it to the range and see if it could truly enhance my P365’s performance.
Real-World Testing: Putting EFK Fire Dragon Sig Sauer P365 9mm Standard Pistol Barrel to the Test
First Use Experience
My first range session with the EFK Fire Dragon Sig Sauer P365 9mm Standard Pistol Barrel was conducted at my local outdoor range. I focused on accuracy testing at 10, 15, and 25 yards, using a variety of 9mm ammunition types, including 115gr FMJ, 124gr JHP, and 147gr FMJ. The weather was typical for a spring afternoon: mild temperatures and a slight breeze.
The barrel performed admirably, particularly regarding accuracy. I noticed a significant reduction in group size compared to the stock barrel, especially at 15 and 25 yards. The EFK Fire Dragon barrel seemed to handle different ammunition types consistently.
Installation was straightforward, and no fitting was required. No issues arose during the initial session, and the barrel cycled rounds smoothly and reliably.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, with approximately 1000 rounds fired, the EFK Fire Dragon Sig Sauer P365 9mm Standard Pistol Barrel continues to impress. The stainless steel finish shows minimal wear, even after repeated cleanings. I regularly clean and lubricate the barrel after each range session.
The barrel remains remarkably accurate, and I have not experienced any malfunctions attributed to the barrel itself. The EFK Fire Dragon barrel consistently outperforms the stock barrel in accuracy tests.
Maintaining the barrel is simple. A standard bore brush and solvent are sufficient to remove fouling and maintain its performance. Compared to my experiences with other aftermarket barrels, the EFK Fire Dragon exhibits superior resistance to wear and maintains accuracy over extended use. This barrel exceeded my expectations for long-term reliability and performance.
