First Impressions of DeSantis Replacement Veiled Partner Clip
The DeSantis Replacement Veiled Partner Clip is a seemingly simple, yet essential component for anyone relying on their DeSantis #195 Veiled Partner holster. This small piece of hardware can be the difference between comfortably and securely carrying your firearm, and having a frustrating, potentially dangerous experience. I was intrigued by the promise of a direct replacement for a critical part of my carry system, and eager to see if it lived up to the DeSantis reputation for quality.
My need for this product stemmed from a worn-out clip on my primary Veiled Partner holster. Years of daily wear and tear had taken their toll, and the original clip was no longer providing the secure hold I needed for confident concealed carry. I needed a reliable, readily available solution to restore my holster to its original functionality.
Upon receiving the DeSantis Replacement Veiled Partner Clip, my initial impression was of solid, no-nonsense construction. The Kydex material felt sturdy, and the design, though simple, appeared well-executed. The black finish was clean and uniform.
Comparing it to similar aftermarket clips, the DeSantis option stood out for its specific compatibility with the Veiled Partner holster. Other clips might work, but the assurance of a perfect fit and proper function swayed my decision. I chose the DeSantis clip because I valued reliability and didn’t want to risk a generic option that might not perform optimally.
Initially, I was cautiously optimistic. While the clip appeared well-made, its true test would be in real-world use and its ability to withstand the rigors of daily carry.
Real-World Testing: Putting DeSantis Replacement Veiled Partner Clip to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the DeSantis Replacement Veiled Partner Clip extensively during daily concealed carry over several weeks. This included wearing it during normal daily activities, as well as during training sessions at the shooting range. These sessions involved drawing and re-holstering drills, providing a good test of the clip’s retention and durability.
The Kydex clip performed admirably in various conditions. Even during hot, humid days, it maintained a secure grip on my belt, preventing any unwanted movement of the holster. I tested the clip in adverse weather conditions. This includes rainy and muddy conditions while hiking, to ensure the clip would function in less-than-ideal weather.
The DeSantis Replacement Veiled Partner Clip proved to be immediately usable. The installation was straightforward, and the clip provided a secure hold right from the start. There were no surprises or issues with the initial use; it simply worked as intended.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the DeSantis Replacement Veiled Partner Clip continues to hold up well. There are no signs of cracking, bending, or loss of retention. The clip still provides the same secure hold as it did on day one.
The Kydex construction has proven to be remarkably durable, resisting scratches and abrasions from daily wear. The clip is easy to clean. I occasionally wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or debris.
Compared to my previous experience with the worn-out original clip, the DeSantis Replacement Veiled Partner Clip is a significant improvement. It provides a level of security and confidence that the old clip simply couldn’t offer. It’s a testament to the quality of DeSantis products.
