Let’s Dive into DeSantis Intruder Inside The Waistband Holster

The DeSantis Intruder Inside The Waistband Holster is a concealment-focused holster designed for comfortable, everyday carry. Specifically crafted for the popular S&W M&P Shield 9/40, this holster blends the best of both worlds with its Kydex and leather construction, offering a secure fit and all-day comfort. The DeSantis Intruder also boasts tuck-ability and adjustable cant, making it a versatile option for various carry positions and clothing styles.

As someone who values both comfort and concealability in a holster, I was seeking a reliable IWB (Inside The Waistband) solution for my M&P Shield. Many holsters I’ve used in the past sacrificed comfort for retention, or vice-versa. The hybrid design of the DeSantis Intruder Inside The Waistband Holster, promising both, piqued my interest.

My first impression upon unboxing was positive. The combination of smooth leather and precisely molded Kydex gave it a professional look and feel. The holster felt sturdy yet surprisingly lightweight.

Compared to other IWB holsters I’ve used, like the Galco KingTuk or the CrossBreed SuperTuck, the DeSantis Intruder Inside The Waistband Holster appeared to offer a similar level of adjustability but with a potentially slimmer profile. I picked it over the others hoping for a superior blend of comfort and concealment specifically tailored to the M&P Shield.

Initially, I was excited by the potential of the DeSantis Intruder Inside The Waistband Holster to provide a comfortable and concealable carry solution. My anticipation stemmed from the quality materials and adjustable design. I couldn’t wait to put it to the test.

I first tested the DeSantis Intruder Inside The Waistband Holster at my local shooting range during a full day of training. I used it while practicing drawing drills and general firearm handling. The day included both dry-fire repetitions and live-fire exercises.

The holster performed admirably even in the dusty range environment. The Kydex retained its shape and secure grip on the firearm despite repeated draws, and the leather backing remained comfortable against my skin.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of regular use, the DeSantis Intruder Inside The Waistband Holster continues to hold up exceptionally well. It has become my go-to carry option for my M&P Shield.

There are only minimal signs of wear and tear, primarily some slight creasing on the leather backing, which is to be expected. The Kydex portion remains rigid and maintains its precise molding.
