The DEMO, NightForce NX8 Rifle Scope, 4-32X50mm, 30mm – 1 out of 6 models from NightForce is a powerhouse of optical engineering, designed for shooters who demand versatility and precision at any distance. This scope distinguishes itself with an impressive 4-32x magnification range, giving users unparalleled flexibility for engagements from close-quarters scenarios to extreme long-range shots. Its compact size relative to its magnification capabilities further sets it apart, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a high-performance optic without adding unnecessary bulk to their rifle.

I was looking for a scope that could handle both short-range hunting in dense woods and long-range target practice out on the plains. A scope that could perform flawlessly in both scenarios was a necessity. The extreme magnification range and compact design of the NightForce NX8 seemed like the perfect solution.

The NightForce NX8 arrived securely packaged, and my initial impression was one of quality and robust construction. The adjustments felt firm and precise, and the overall finish was flawless. Real-World Testing: Putting DEMO, NightForce NX8 Rifle Scope, 4-32X50mm, 30mm – 1 out of 6 models to the Test

First Use Experience

I initially tested the NightForce NX8 at my local shooting range, focusing on dialing in the zero at 100 yards. The adjustments were precise and repeatable, making it easy to achieve a consistent zero. The reticle was crisp and clear, even at the highest magnification settings.

I also took the NightForce NX8 on a backcountry elk hunt in the Montana mountains. The scope performed admirably in the varying light conditions, from bright sunlight to dim twilight. Even with snow and light rain, visibility remained excellent.

The NightForce NX8 was intuitive to use right out of the box. The power throw lever (PTL) made magnification adjustments quick and easy, even with gloved hands. There wasn’t much of a learning curve, which was a pleasant surprise.

After the first range session, I noticed a slight stiffness in the parallax adjustment. This issue resolved itself after a few adjustments. The clarity and brightness of the image at high magnification was initially a bit lower than expected, but not to a level that would be considered detrimental to its function.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of regular use, the NightForce NX8 has proven to be incredibly durable and reliable. It has withstood numerous trips to the range and several hunting excursions without any issues. It holds zero consistently, even after being subjected to rough handling in the field.

The scope shows no signs of wear and tear, despite being exposed to various weather conditions. The finish is still pristine, and the adjustments remain smooth and precise. The glass continues to provide a clear and bright image, regardless of the lighting conditions.

Cleaning the NightForce NX8 is simple; a quick wipe down with a lens cloth is usually sufficient. The turrets are easy to access and adjust, even with gloves. Regular maintenance has been minimal and straightforward.

The NightForce NX8 outperforms my previous scopes in several key areas, most notably in its magnification range and overall image quality. Its durability also stands out. It has quickly become my go-to optic for any rifle where versatility and long-range precision are paramount.
