First Thoughts on the CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″
The CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ is not just another rimfire AR; it’s a dedicated platform designed to deliver precision and reliability in a .22 ARC package. CMMG is well-regarded for its AR conversion kits, and the Endeavor 22 ARC represents a step further – a complete rifle built from the ground up to optimize the .22 ARC cartridge in an AR platform. This instantly elevates it above simple conversions. I was intrigued by the promise of accuracy and the potential for cost-effective training and plinking.
My journey to the CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ began with a need for affordable, yet accurate, long-range practice. Centerfire ammunition costs had become prohibitive for frequent range visits. I was seeking a .22LR AR-patterned rifle that felt and functioned like my primary centerfire ARs, allowing me to maintain proficiency without breaking the bank.
Unboxing the rifle, I was immediately impressed with the fit and finish. The weight felt balanced, and the materials seemed to be of high quality. The rifle exhibited no noticeable wobble or play between the upper and lower receivers. It felt solid and well-built.
Compared to the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 Sport and the Tippmann Arms M4-22, the CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ stood out due to its longer barrel and dedicated design for .22 ARC. I opted for the CMMG because I anticipated that its 20″ barrel would provide enhanced accuracy at longer ranges and the overall build quality seemed superior. The CMMG promised a more refined shooting experience.
