The CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ Made a Bold First Impression

The CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ is not just another AR platform; it’s a dedicated .22 ARC rifle designed for accuracy, reliability, and training. The CMMG name carries a reputation for quality, and the Endeavor line promises performance. Featuring a 20-inch barrel optimized for the .22 ARC cartridge, this rifle stands out as a serious contender for small-game hunting, precision target shooting, and cost-effective training.

I was looking for a dedicated .22LR AR-platform rifle for affordable and accurate range training. My goal was to maintain proficiency with the AR platform without the cost associated with centerfire ammunition. The CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ seemed like the perfect solution to scratch that itch.

Unboxing the CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″, I was immediately impressed by the fit and finish. The rifle felt solid and well-built, with no noticeable slop or rattling. The weight was balanced nicely, and the overall design was clean and functional.

Compared to a dedicated .22LR AR pistol I had previously considered from another manufacturer, the CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ won out due to its longer barrel and rifle configuration. These differences promised enhanced accuracy and a more familiar shooting experience akin to my centerfire AR. Ultimately, I felt that the CMMG offered a better platform for my intended use.

Real-World Testing: Putting CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ to the Test

First Use Experience

My first outing with the CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ was at my local outdoor shooting range. The weather was clear, with a slight breeze, making for ideal shooting conditions. I set up targets at 25, 50, and 100 yards to test the rifle’s accuracy at varying distances.

The CMMG Endeavor 22 ARC 20″ performed flawlessly. It cycled reliably with various brands of .22LR ammunition and proved to be impressively accurate. At 50 yards, I was consistently achieving sub-MOA groups with quality match ammunition.

The only minor issue I encountered was a single failure to extract with a particular brand of bulk ammunition. Switching to a different brand of ammunition immediately resolved the issue. This highlights the importance of testing different ammunition types to find what works best.
