Let’s Talk About Choate Tool 12 Ga. Magazine Extension Sling Swivel Base Clamp 1in Matte Finish
The Choate Tool 12 Ga. Magazine Extension Sling Swivel Base Clamp 1in Matte Finish is a seemingly simple yet vital component for shotgun owners seeking to enhance their firearm’s functionality. This clamp serves dual purposes, providing a secure sling attachment point and adding stability to magazine extensions. Choate Tool, a name synonymous with practical and durable firearm accessories, offers this clamp as a solution for those looking to improve their shotgun’s handling and carrying capabilities.
For years, I struggled with effectively slinging my Mossberg 500 with an extended magazine tube. Standard sling mounting options felt flimsy and unreliable. The Choate Tool clamp promised a robust and secure solution, prompting me to give it a try.
Upon unboxing, the clamp’s solid construction was immediately apparent. The matte finish gave it a utilitarian look that blended seamlessly with my shotgun’s aesthetics. Its weight felt substantial enough to inspire confidence without adding unnecessary bulk. It certainly looked better than the jury-rigged paracord setup I had been using.
I considered similar clamps from Magpul and CDM Gear. However, the Choate Tool clamp’s straightforward design and significantly lower price point made it the obvious choice for my needs. Simplicity and affordability won the day.
My initial reaction was one of cautious optimism. The build quality seemed excellent, but the true test would be its performance in the field. Would it hold up to the rigors of regular use, or would it become another frustrating addition to my gear pile?

After several months of regular use, including multiple range trips and a hunting excursion, the Choate Tool clamp continues to impress.
