The Butler Creek 180092 Quick Carry Included Swivel Size Mossy Oak Break-Up Country Made a Bold First Impression
After a grueling elk hunt last season, where my rifle sling dug into my shoulder like a misplaced shovel, I knew something had to change. The standard sling that came with my trusty .30-06 was simply not cutting it anymore. I needed something comfortable, adaptable, and, let’s be honest, something that blended in with the environment. Enter the Butler Creek 180092 Quick Carry Included Swivel Size Mossy Oak Break-Up Country.
The promise of a sling that could transition from carry to shooting support with one-handed adjustment, along with the allure of the Mossy Oak Break-Up Country camo, was too good to resist. As a seasoned outdoorsman, I’ve learned that comfort and adaptability can make or break a hunt, and this sling seemed to offer both in spades. Opening the package, I was immediately struck by the Butler Creek’s attention to detail.
The camo pattern was vibrant and realistic, and the overall construction felt solid and well-made. Compared to the basic nylon sling it was replacing, the Butler Creek offering exuded quality. While other slings I considered focused solely on comfort or adjustability, this one seemed to nail both, packaged with the added bonus of Uncle Mike’s locking swivels, a name I trust for security. My initial impression was one of cautious optimism – could this sling really live up to the hype?
Real-World Testing: Putting **Butler Creek 180092 Quick Carry Included Swivel Size Mossy Oak Break-Up Country** to the Test
First Use Experience
My first foray with the Butler Creek Quick Carry Sling was on a weekend deer hunt in the dense forests of northern Wisconsin. The terrain was a mix of thick brush and open hardwoods, requiring frequent adjustments to my carry. Right away, the one-handed adjustment feature proved its worth.
Being able to loosen or tighten the sling on the fly, without fumbling or taking my eyes off the trail, was a game-changer. The weather was typical for late fall – damp and chilly. The sling’s material, even when slightly wet, remained comfortable against my jacket, unlike my old sling, which would become stiff and irritating. There were no immediate issues; the swivels locked securely onto my rifle, and the adjustments were smooth and intuitive.

Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, spanning deer, turkey, and even a coyote hunt, the Butler Creek sling has proven its reliability. There are no signs of significant wear and tear, despite being dragged through thickets and exposed to harsh weather. I periodically wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove mud and debris, which is usually sufficient to keep it clean.
The camo pattern remains vibrant, and the stitching is holding up well. Compared to my past experiences with cheaper slings that would fray or break after a season or two, the Butler Creek is proving to be a worthwhile investment. It consistently outperforms my expectations, offering both comfort and functionality in demanding conditions.
