The Breakthrough Clean AR15 Upper Brush Set/Pads Made a Bold First Impression
The AR-15, a modern sporting rifle embraced by millions, demands proper care and maintenance. The Breakthrough Clean AR15 Upper Brush Set/Pads, from Breakthrough Clean, offers a compact and affordable solution for cleaning the often-neglected upper receiver. This little kit promised to make cleaning the AR’s upper receiver easier, faster, and more thorough.
My quest for this cleaning kit stemmed from a need to improve my post-range cleaning routine. Carbon fouling builds up quickly in the AR-15’s upper receiver, especially around the chamber and bolt carrier group. Previously, I was using makeshift tools and patches that were less than ideal.
Upon unboxing, the Breakthrough Clean AR15 Upper Brush Set/Pads exuded a sense of quality. The brushes felt robust, and the included chamber pads seemed well-designed. The small size made it instantly apparent this was a kit designed for portability, which is a huge plus for range bag inclusion.
I considered other cleaning kits from brands like Otis and Real Avid, but the Breakthrough Clean kit stood out due to its focus on the upper receiver and its attractive price of $9.49. Many kits bundle a plethora of tools, but I wanted something streamlined and specialized.
My first impression was positive. The Breakthrough Clean AR15 Upper Brush Set/Pads appeared to be a thoughtfully designed and well-made cleaning solution. It promised to simplify a crucial aspect of AR-15 maintenance.
