It’s a replacement part designed for those who appreciate the traditional look and feel of a walnut stock, combined with the reliability needed in the field.
My Rossi 92, chambered in .44 Magnum, has always been a reliable companion on hunting trips, but the original forend felt… lacking. I needed a forend that not only looked better but also offered a more secure and comfortable grip, especially during colder months. This seemed like the perfect solution.
Upon receiving the Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks Rossi 92 44/45 Cal Barrel Band Forend, I was immediately struck by the richness of the walnut. The wood grain was beautiful, and the finish appeared smooth and even. The weight felt substantial, lending a sense of quality and durability.
Several other aftermarket forends are available for the Rossi 92, including synthetic and laminate options. I opted for the Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks walnut forend because I wanted to maintain the classic lever-action aesthetic.
