Let’s Talk About Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks Rifle Stock FT Savage 16 XP Trophy Hunter DBM Short Action LH Stk RH Act FBC
The Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks Rifle Stock FT Savage 16 XP Trophy Hunter DBM Short Action LH Stk RH Act FBC is a replacement stock designed to breathe new life into your Savage 16 XP Trophy Hunter rifle. Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks is known for crafting high-quality, aesthetically pleasing, and functional stocks, and this model aims to provide a significant upgrade over factory polymer stocks. Specifically designed for left-handed shooters using a right-handed action with a detachable box magazine and a factory barrel channel, this stock promises enhanced ergonomics and improved accuracy, all wrapped in a classic forest camo finish.
My search for this stock began with a common problem: the factory stock on my Savage 16 XP Trophy Hunter felt cheap and uncomfortable. It lacked the rigidity I needed for consistent accuracy, and the ergonomics were clearly an afterthought. I needed a stock that felt solid, provided a better grip, and improved my overall shooting experience.
Upon unboxing, the first thing that struck me was the heft and solid feel of the hardwood. The forest camo finish looked fantastic, and the overall build quality seemed excellent. It immediately felt like a significant step up from the factory stock, promising a tangible improvement in both aesthetics and performance.
Compared to the factory synthetic stock and aftermarket options like the Magpul Hunter 700, and Bell and Carlson Medalist, I chose the Boyds stock for its blend of classic styling and precise fit for my specific rifle configuration. The Magpul is too tacticool for my liking, and the Bell and Carlson felt too synthetic. My initial impression was excitement; I couldn’t wait to get it mounted on my rifle and see how it performed at the range.
