I was constantly battling inconsistent cheek weld with my factory Savage stock, which directly impacted my long-range accuracy. Finding a stock that offered easy adjustability and improved ergonomics was paramount.
Upon unboxing, the first thing that struck me was the beautiful Applejack laminate; it’s a significant aesthetic upgrade over the standard synthetic stock. The wood felt solid and well-finished, and the overall build quality seemed robust.
While I considered options from Magpul and Grayboe, the At-One’s on-the-fly adjustability and the classic appeal of a hardwood stock ultimately swayed me. I also liked that Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks offers a factory barrel channel option which meant it would be a drop-in fit for my rifle without gunsmithing.
