I’ve been building custom rifles for years, and the biggest problem I always face is finding a good left-handed stock. Factory options are limited, and many aftermarket choices lack the specific features I need, namely a detachable box magazine capability and clearance for a bull barrel profile. The Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks Classic Remington 700 PTG Short Action, Detachable Box Magazine, Left Hand Stock, Bull Barrel Channel Rifle Stock seemed like the perfect solution to address these very issues.

The wood grain was attractive, and the finish appeared smooth and even, suggesting a high level of craftsmanship.

Compared to other aftermarket stocks, particularly those from companies like McMillan or Manners, the Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks stock stands out for its value. While those composite stocks offer exceptional performance, they come at a significantly higher price point. For a shooter seeking a quality upgrade without breaking the bank, the Boyds offering presents a compelling alternative.
