First Use Experience
I tested the Boyds At-One stock at my local shooting range, focusing on bench rest shooting to evaluate its impact on accuracy and comfort. The weather was slightly overcast, with a mild breeze – typical conditions for that location.
The immediate improvement was noticeable: the adjustable comb and length-of-pull allowed me to achieve a perfect cheek weld and comfortable reach to the trigger. This translated directly into tighter groupings downrange. After years of compensating with ill-fitting stocks, it was refreshing to finally have a rifle that felt like it was made for me.
The installation was straightforward, and the stock fit my Zastava M70 perfectly. The only minor issue I encountered was needing to fine-tune the comb height to my specific scope setup, which was easily done with the provided tools.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Boyds At-One stock continues to perform admirably. It has become an integral part of my Zastava M70.
The stock shows minimal signs of wear and tear, with the hardwood finish proving surprisingly resilient to scratches and dings. I’ve taken it on a couple of hunting trips in varying weather conditions.
Maintaining the stock is simple: occasional wiping with a damp cloth keeps it clean, and a light coat of gun stock wax preserves the finish. Compared to the flimsy plastic stock that came with the rifle originally, the Boyds At-One is a night-and-day improvement in terms of durability and overall shooting experience.
