The Black Rain Ordnance Single Stage Drop-In AR15 Rifle Trigger, 3.5lb pull promises a crisp, clean break and a lightning-fast reset for enhanced shooting performance. Black Rain Ordnance aims to deliver a competition-ready feel in an easy-to-install package, making it appealing for both new and seasoned AR-15 enthusiasts. I’ve spent years tweaking and optimizing AR platforms, and the trigger is the heart of any accurate rifle; so, I was eager to see if this drop-in unit could truly elevate my shooting experience.

My AR-15 needed a trigger upgrade. The stock trigger was mushy, inconsistent, and frankly, hindering my accuracy, especially during rapid-fire drills.

The Black Rain Ordnance trigger arrived in a simple, no-nonsense package. The blue anodized trigger housing immediately caught my eye; it looked and felt like a quality piece, and the included KNS anti-rotation pins were a welcome addition, suggesting a commitment to longevity. It feels solid in hand and the curved trigger bow has a nice smooth feel.

I considered several other drop-in triggers, including offerings from Geissele and CMC Triggers. Ultimately, I chose the Black Rain Ordnance trigger for its advertised combination of a light pull weight (3.5lbs) and a price point that was lower than some of its competitors.

My first impression was excitement tempered with a bit of skepticism. The trigger looked great, but I knew the real test would be how it performed on the range.
