I was looking for a bow that my son and I could both use as he learns the sport. Adjustability in draw weight and length was paramount, along with a complete setup to minimize initial investment and maximize our time shooting. The claims of wide adjustability and the inclusion of necessary accessories drew me to the Cruzer G4.

Unboxing the Cruzer G4, I immediately noticed its lightweight construction. The black finish looked clean and durable, and the included accessories appeared to be of reasonable quality. Initial inspection revealed no visible flaws, and the bow felt well-balanced in my hands.

Compared to other entry-level bows I’ve handled, the Cruzer G4 seemed to offer a more comprehensive package. Other bows often require piecemeal accessory purchases, increasing the overall cost and time to get shooting. I chose this Bear Archery model specifically for its complete RTH setup and the reputable brand name.

My initial impression was one of cautious optimism. The Cruzer G4 appeared to deliver on its promise of adjustability and completeness. I was excited to get it out to the range and see how it performed.

Real-World Testing: Putting Bear Archery Cruzer G4 RTH Bow Package 1502489 to the Test

First Use Experience

I tested the Bear Archery Cruzer G4 RTH Bow Package 1502489 at my local outdoor archery range. The range offered a variety of distances, allowing me to evaluate the bow’s performance at different yardages. Conditions were sunny and mild, perfect for an afternoon of shooting.

Adjusting the draw weight and length was surprisingly straightforward, requiring only a few basic tools and minimal effort. I set it up for my son’s shorter draw length and lower poundage first, and then adjusted it for myself. The bow felt stable and relatively quiet during the initial shots.

Despite the ease of adjustment, the included sight felt somewhat basic. I found myself making frequent adjustments to maintain accuracy at different distances. Overall, the first use was positive, with the adjustability being a standout feature.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of consistent use, the Bear Archery Cruzer G4 RTH Bow Package 1502489 has proven to be a reliable and adaptable bow. I’ve taken it to the range multiple times, and my son has been practicing regularly in the backyard. Minor wear and tear on the grip is noticeable, but otherwise, it holds up well.

The string has shown some stretching, requiring occasional waxing to maintain its performance. All in all, the Cruzer G4 has exceeded my expectations for an entry-level bow. Its ability to accommodate different archers and its consistent performance have made it a valuable addition to our archery equipment.

Maintenance is simple, mainly consisting of string waxing and occasional cleaning of the cams and limbs. I appreciate the ease of maintaining the Cruzer G4, allowing me to focus on shooting rather than constant upkeep. Comparing it to my previous experiences with other bows, the Cruzer G4 offers a better balance of performance, adjustability, and ease of maintenance.
