Bear Archery Bear The Hunting Public Adapt Plus RTH Bow Review

First Impressions of Bear Archery Bear The Hunting Public Adapt Plus RTH Bow

The Bear Archery Bear The Hunting Public Adapt Plus RTH Bow arrives as a collaboration between Bear Archery and The Hunting Public, promising a blend of performance and accessibility. This Ready-To-Hunt (RTH) package aims to equip archers of various skill levels with everything they need to hit the woods. From its Mossy Oak Bottomland camo finish to the included accessories, the Adapt Plus seeks to provide a seamless entry into bowhunting.

My journey to this bow began with a desire for a more compact and versatile hunting setup. My old compound bow was simply too bulky for maneuvering in dense brush. The Bear Archery Bear The Hunting Public Adapt Plus RTH Bow’s 32″ axle-to-axle length immediately caught my eye as a potential solution.

Unboxing the bow revealed a well-packaged kit. The bow itself felt solid and well-constructed, with the camo finish applied cleanly and evenly. The included accessories, while not top-of-the-line, appeared functional and ready for use. My initial thought was one of cautious optimism – a good starting point that could be upgraded over time.

Compared to other mid-range RTH bows I’ve handled, such as those from Diamond Archery and PSE, the Bear Archery Bear The Hunting Public Adapt Plus RTH Bow seemed to offer a slightly more refined feel. Its advertised speed was also a selling point. I ultimately chose this bow for its balance of compactness, speed, and the reputation of Bear Archery.

My first impression was positive. While not a flagship model, the Bear Archery Bear The Hunting Public Adapt Plus RTH Bow seemed to offer a solid foundation for bowhunting. I was eager to get it to the range and see how it performed.

Real-World Testing: Putting Bear Archery Bear The Hunting Public Adapt Plus RTH Bow to the Test

First Use Experience

My initial testing took place at my local archery range, a mix of indoor and outdoor lanes. The goal was to get a feel for the bow’s draw cycle, stability, and overall accuracy. I spent several hours adjusting the draw length (which was relatively easy thanks to the Adapt Plus’s adjustability) and sighting in the included Hotwire sight.

The bow performed admirably in the controlled environment. Even though it was set at 55lbs draw weight, the draw cycle was smooth and consistent. The ergonomic grip was comfortable, even after extended shooting sessions. There were no major issues during the first use.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of consistent use, both at the range and in the field during early-season scouting, the Bear Archery Bear The Hunting Public Adapt Plus RTH Bow has proven to be a reliable companion. I am yet to take it on an actual hunt. The bow has endured some light rain and dusty conditions.

The Mossy Oak Bottomland camo has held up well, showing no signs of fading or scratching. Routine maintenance, including waxing the string and checking the tightness of screws, has been straightforward. Compared to my previous bow, this Bear Archery offering feels more forgiving and easier to tune.
