First Impressions of Axcel LANDSLYDE Sight 1406260
The Axcel LANDSLYDE Sight 1406260 promises a blend of rapid adjustment and precision targeting for the serious bowhunter. Marketed as an ultra-tuned hunting sight, its adjustable mount, quick-adjust knob, and fine-tune adjustments immediately caught my eye. With features like metal sight tapes and adjustable axes, this sight aims to elevate the archer’s game.
My primary need was a sight that could handle quick elevation changes in diverse hunting terrains. I needed something robust and easily adjustable for both known and unknown distances. The Axcel LANDSLYDE Sight 1406260 looked like it could deliver.
Unboxing the sight revealed a well-machined piece of equipment. The aluminum mount felt sturdy, and the adjustment knobs moved smoothly. The black finish gave it a tactical, no-nonsense aesthetic that I appreciated.
Compared to my previous sight, a basic fixed-pin model, the Axcel LANDSLYDE Sight 1406260 felt like a significant upgrade. I also considered the Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL, another popular adjustable sight, but the Axcel’s rapid adjust knob seemed faster and more intuitive. This swayed my decision.
My initial impression was excitement tempered with a touch of apprehension. I was eager to get it mounted and sighted in, but also aware that the more complex design might require a steeper learning curve. The potential for improved accuracy and faster adjustments, however, definitely outweighed any concerns.
Real-World Testing: Putting Axcel LANDSLYDE Sight 1406260 to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Axcel LANDSLYDE Sight 1406260 at my local archery range, setting up targets at distances from 20 to 60 yards. The weather was mild and dry, providing ideal conditions for initial sighting. The initial adjustments were straightforward using the fine-tune yardage knob.
The Rapid Adjust Knob proved remarkably quick for making large elevation changes. I found the two adjustable pointers very helpful for setting specific pre-determined distances. Once dialed in, the sight felt solid and provided a clear sight picture.
After about an hour of shooting, I noticed a slight loosening of the elevation adjustment screw. It wasn’t significant, but it highlighted the need for regular checks to ensure everything remained tight. Even with this minor issue, I was very impressed.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of regular use, including a week-long elk hunt in Montana, the Axcel LANDSLYDE Sight 1406260 has held up surprisingly well. I’ve used it in rain, dust, and even a light snowfall. The anodized finish shows no signs of fading or scratching.
The sight has remained remarkably accurate, even after multiple adjustments and changes in environment. I’ve made it a habit to check the screws and tighten them before each shooting session to ensure optimal performance. Cleaning is simple: a quick wipe-down with a soft cloth keeps everything in good working order.
Compared to other sights I’ve used, including some fixed-pin models and a cheaper adjustable sight, the Axcel definitely outperforms them in terms of adjustability and ruggedness. Its ability to quickly adapt to varying distances in the field is a game-changer.
